Can't have more than half the lineup being easy outs at the plate every game. Eventually some of those guys need to step up and do something with the bat.

I'm moving into the strongly concerned category even though it's only 7 games. This team got through last season with very strong starting pitching. If we just get average starting pitching this year and the team continues to live by the long ball (I thought we were going to address this in the offseason), we are going to be in big trouble.

Where did you see criticism? I took that as "how do you hit a guy who can throw 101 when he can drop in a breaking ball, and pitchers never used to do that in my era".

Hmm maybe I misinterpreted? Zaun seemed unimpressed by the pitcher choosing the breaking ball on the 3-2 count and ended it with something like "and he chooses the curveball? I don't get it"
Maybe it's because he just isn't good at speaking. Because that's definitely true.

Think you misinterpreted it. He was saying Donaldson was sitting dead red and he would Have been to because it's not frequent a fire hurler would drop a breaking ball on a 3-2 count and it never happened in his day.

Pitching has been good enough, hitting has been laughable. Still early, but another week of hitting like this and the season could be pretty much cooked.

Kind of surprised this is the worst start in franchise history. There have been some bad Jays teams.
I'm not panicking yet. It's a long season and they just need one hot streak to get out of this hole.

Jays have holes in their lineup without a question, off season was terrible.
However when you see a player like Jose Bautista swinging for the fences... (Zaun spoke about this)... He should be working to generate a hit.... not over swinging.
Jays can only get better.
Sooner the better

I guess the one promising thing is the 5 guys who have been doing the worst are guys that we weren't as worried about to start the season.
Tulo > .185 (Career - .291, Last Year .254)
Pearce > .158 (Career - .253, Last Year .288)
Bautista > .120 (Career - .254, Last Year .234)
Travis > .111 (Career - .294, Last Year .300 )
Martin > .000 (Career - .254, Last Year .231 )
Expect a regression to the norm for these bats has to happen soon.
