I keep coming up with "mobile Pardy" (mostly because of the height and weight comparables) and "big Ference" as my descriptors of him. Either way, he looks to be a nice depth player for the Flames.

Sounds like a useful player either way. Riding the confidence of a Memorial Cup run I could see this guy pushing for a spot at camp.

I'll take a Big Ference or a version of Adam Pardy that doesn't trip over his own feet any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Raanta will win in it, but it's still nice to see him nominated. Ortio has better physical tools for an NHL career than Raanta. Hopefully he keeps progressing.

Don't see how there is room for him if the Flames sign Ramo unless Brossoit or Ortio will be starting the season in the ECHL.
According to Feaster, he's coming over to play in Abbotsford. I guess it will all be sorted out in training camp but looking at it now, I'd guess Brossoit goes to Utah. Graduating junior goalies often start in the ECHL, so it's no disgrace for Brossoit, he could even be sent back to Edmonton.

I thought Feaster actually said he's good enough to come over, not that he will be in NA for sure next season. In any case I agree that the ECHL is fine for one season for Brossoit. I think the Flames can skip drafting a goalie this year with Ortio, Brossoit and Gilles developing the next few years.

I think it was Henry Fool who pointed out that some of the moves recently made by Ortio's Finnish team point to Ortio not returning there next season. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
As for the Flames drafting another goalie in his draft, I hope they do, just not with one of heir first rounders. With nine total picks at his point, I don't mind snagging another goalie prospect. Keep the pipeline humming, and hopefully they all continue to improve.

I'd be okay if they drafted Tristan Jarry in the third round or even fourth round if he falls that far.
