I bought a mower this spring with a Briggs and Stratton engine. My first choice was a B&S and I found a really good deal on a Kobalt (Lowe's brand) mower. I have the B&S 675EX engine model. It runs great at the moment (as it should because it is new.)

I bought mine from Sears, it has a Briggs and Stratton 6.75hp, I assume it's the same engine. I have had it for 7 years and had it stored outside under my deck and every year it starts first pull.

Bump. So basically what I can understand is that either Honda or Briggs & Stratton are the route to go, seems like CT, Home Depot and Costco all have great options. Any recommendations between those three?

Whatever you get, if you maintain it properly it will work well. Just an opportunity to highlight this guy in the SE. Does lawnmower repair and maintenance out of his garage. Great guy with quick, cheap service. I basically tortured my machine through neglect and he got it running like new in no time.

I love my battery-powered mower. I'm on my second one now. No gas or oil to deal with, no cord required. You flick a switch and it goes like turning on a blender.
Before anyone says, "Yeah, but that battery," I live in the centre of a cul de sac and my back yard is immense and one charge often gets it done, depending on grass length. On occasions when it doesn't quite make it I can go have a beer or do something else for an hour while it's charging and come back to finish the job.

I got a sweet lawnmower last year from Lowe's. It's a Kobalt with a removable rechargeable battery. I like it a lot.

I bought a weed whacker with the same battery, now I have 2 so I can swap it out if I need to. Haven't yet, but the option is there.

I "inherited" a Lawn Boy Commercial when my dad no longer required it - more than 20 years old now. I'm pretty sure the maintenance on it over the last 10 years has been exactly 0. Starts nearly effortlessly every single spring after sitting all winter in the shed.
It has a magnesium deck, I don't think they make them anymore. Its so light, there's no reason for it to be self propelled (and it isn't). Perhaps slightly underpowered at 4.5 HP, but this usually isn't an issue, unless I'm trying to mow long wet grass.

What about sharpening, replacing or repairing a blade? I took the blade off last year and have been delinquent in getting it fixed.

Normally this is rock solid advice, but man, would I ever love to shop in a powerhouse like the place mentioned above.
I'd have to think it would allow only the manliest of men to pass thru it's doors

I think I would get a Stihl Electric. Like the weight and how easy it is to move around and transport.

It really is top of the line equipment for battery powered stuff, once you have the battery and charger you can use that in any of the equipment. The blowers, in particular, are really awesome.
Anybody seriously interested PM me and I can set you up with any pricing you may need

Although, this model has been working awesome for me. I paired it with the 40v Grass trimmers as well, so I'm able to mow my full lawn, with plenty of battery to spare to use in the grass trimmer to complete the finishing touches.
