This may be the first ever Kickstarter I actually back. Would love a couple of these:

Anyone have any of the Guidelights that company makes? They look really cool if they provide a decent amount of light.

I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat, but what are the chances they'll be approved for use in Canada?

The new goggles also do nothing.

They say they'll be UL certified for Canada, but I dunno if a non-secured electrical connection like that will be certified. I can't think of any other kind of device that has a similar type of connection, other than maybe the plug itself?

We bought them. They are okay when it's dark, they provide a good amount of light (enough to see where you're walking and you don't have to turn any lights on, but not enough to really wake you up if you go take a whiz in the middle of the night).

The only issue is they are low down on the wall, and they don't get enough direct light from the ceiling, so they are on all day long.

Based on this thread I bought a 10 pack of the things - I think they are awesome. We put black out blinds in our upstairs windows and they do their job... these lights down the hallway are perfect - provide just enough light to wander down the hall without crashing into anything but not enough to wake anyone up.

I put a few of these throughout the house and am quite happy with them. Not as simple as the kickstarter install, but easy enough if you are at all comfortable with basic electrical work.

I understand the USB / combo outlets serve a niche market where a person can't access the electrical panel to turn off power to the outlet to safely install a new outlet, but they exist already in dozens of forms for people who can.

It reminds of the Kickstarter project for the butter knife with the little holes. Almost all butter knives with the slightly serrated edge do that already if you hold them at the slight angle to the butter.

Honestly, it doesn't look as safe as it should be, electrical connections should be secured.

And wiring a new plug takes all of 10 minutes, including getting out all the required tools, and putting them away after. And as above, they aren't hard to find.

Plus, those only have 1 amp charging.

A couple of friends and I are interested in making an IoT showerhead. We're conducting a market research survey, I'd love it if anyone could give some feedback.

Both. Turbine is used to charge a battery.
