I think you can change the thread title if you go 'edit' and then 'advanced'.

I changed it, I think it reflects what's going on right now. If you want to change it, feel free.

Good title change although technically it's Flames vs (Blues or Preds)/Kings since one of St Louis or Nashville can make the playoffs as 3rd in the Central.

Also I still have my fingers crossed we are seeing the start of an Oilers collapse and 3rd in the Pacific will be up for grabs.

Those 4 games against the Kings are huge. Win those and play decent down the stretch and we should be good to go.

Yup.
Without those 8 points we gave them, I think the Oil miss the dance again this year.

I think we are seeing that and the Ducks are falling too, 2nd place could be reachable.

It's a major piss off for sure.

But although its a long shot, catching the Oilers is still a possibility. To finish ahead of a team that swept 4 games from you would be remarkable. And a glorious way to make the playoffs.

We finish the regular season:

@ Anaheim
@ LA
@ San Jose

That's a concern to me as our struggles on west coast road trips are well documented.

Though what a time to break the Honda Center curse.

Dallas and Winnipeg have really fallen off the pace. The way things are going, Vancouver might finish ahead of them, which has got to be pretty embarrassing for those fanbases.

I consider the Blues/Kings/Preds to be better teams than the Flames at this point. It will be tough to sneak in over one of them.

I think at the end of the day it's going to be between Calgary and LA... 4 games head to head will pretty much tell the story for this season.

Big 4 point road game up next on Tuesday with Predators followed by another 4 point home game a week later with LA.

Flames (1-1-1 last week) edged into a dead head with Kings this week with four head-to-head games still left with LA. Both 3 games over 500.

Kings (0-2 last week)
Panthers (1-1 last week)

Blues (2-1 last week) slowly moving ahead of the pack post-coaching change.

Also interesting that LA Kings home game is night before trade deadline?

It seems fairly likely the Flames playoff chances will still be significant by March 1.

Flames could have completely buried the Canucks and moved into the first wildcard with a win last night. Having said that the Canucks, Jets, Stars are pretty much all done. I really hope LA fades out as I see that being the team Calgary is fighting with for the last spot. I just think the Preds and Blues both get in
