Just bought a tripod with remote to replace my gf filming my swing at the driving range/back courtyard. I really think if you're going to get better it's essential equipment. What I "feel" my swing looks like and what it looks like on film are so different. Frustrating, but if I didn't look I wouldn't see that my hands are still flipping and I'm still getting "stuck".

Anyone else got a golf station setup for practice?

Played like absolute dog shirt yesterday shooting a 95 and then played lights out today and shot a pb of 76. Very weird.

Ya, golf is a weird sport. I won my Thursday matchplay league with what would've amounted to a 72. Including a personal best 6 hole run of 3 birdies and 3 pars for -3. Played 9 holes on the Friday shot a 38 +3. Moved onto the weekend firing a smooth 91 and then an 81 on Sunday.

I guess this is why we are amateurs.

Looking for a semi-local twilight round for this friday, Any suggestions? Short notice but with sunset at like 830 it seems twilight is hard to come by.

Just played Speargrass.

Paid $65 for 18, including cart and two bags of tees! The course is in immaculate shape. I don't see better value than this course anywhere in Calgary and area. Really good course. Highly recommend!

Broke par for the first time ever tonight.

Probably lose the low net by 5 shots to some 30 capper who shot 41.

Congrats DoubleK...that's a big accomplishment. Was it on 18 or 9?

Congratulations! An awesome accomplishment.

Now be prepared for the two months of struggling to break 90! Just when you think you got this game figured out the golf gods come by and kick you in the nether regions to remind you where your game really is at!

Yep. Yesterday was my 6th or 7th round of the year only. Was surprisingly playing quite well as I had no expectations due to lack of playing. So sure enough, yesterday was the first round in which I had some expectations. Finished with an 89, and lucky to shoot that even. What a sport.

There's nothing worse for my golf game than a good round.

I just booked a round for tomorrow at Muirfield for 4:50. I was hoping for no later than 4:15 but we should still be able to finish the round.

I've got 4:30 booked at Elbow Springs this Friday. Thinking I should be close to getting through the round.

Played 4:00 at Bearspaw two days ago and it was night when I was driving out of the lot after the round.

Last week I played Springbank at 18:10 and got to 14 before it was too dark for me, the course seemed like it was moving fast that day though. It was my first time there and I really wasn’t too impressed with the condition of it considering the price.

Played Elbow Springs yesterday afternoon and loved it, the Springs and Elbow 9’s are in great shape.

Bearspaw tends to get dark a little earlier than other courses. I have played a few late afternoon rounds there and because the last 4 holes go down into the valley and treed area the daylight is always a little lacking in the evening.

I played in a tourney last week at Springbank Links. The course is in atrocious condition, which is a real shame because I love that track usually.

There was one tee box (I want to say #11 or 12) that I'm not sure I could have found a green blade of grass on it. Not even exaggerating.

Really disappointing...thanks Windmill group.

The irritating thing about Springbank is that they seemed to have punched some greens but not others a couple weeks ago, so the speeds are not consistent from hole to hole. Pretty difficult to putt under those conditions.

Thanks - Mckenzie does indeed have a nice large practice bunker on the west side, but unfortunately it's closed due to covid (not sure what the logic is on that one).

So I am still on the hunt for a practice bunker that is open to the public.
