I'll keep that in mind. I'm not in hurry to get any beams because I probably won't need them until January some time. Species isn't too important, character is more important.

I need a beam or two (depending on length) so that I can get 4 sections at 42 inches and one section at 60 inches. Probably around 6x6 or 8x8 or something.

Got this for Christmas and have been loving it! Next time Heatly is in town I'll get him to sign it.

I know the fingerprint readers made by Lenovo sense for capacitance in the finger meaning a dismembered finger would not work. Not sure if that's really necessary for a laptop but nonetheless cool.

I think this sort of thing is meant more as a gift for the cold blooded calculating murderer on everyone's gift list.

Also, spaghetti fork wins.

The problem with the safe is that it would still be really easy to steal. Just pick up the whole safe and walk out with it. All it would prevent is kids getting their hands on guns (which should be unloaded in storage anyway, but that is a separate issue).

These pocket synthesizers are cool. I like the stripped down design and Game and Watch style LCD. They're cheap (especially compared to Teenage Engineering's other products) but I'm not sure if they do anything that synth apps don't. I still want them though.

Haha. Yes. It almost removes unsightly wrist hair after only a few weeks of agonizing discomfort.

I can't say enough good things about the new ASUS VivoPC

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX51815

Bought one for a home theater PC and Steam streaming box combo and it's flawless for both. Pricing out the separate components you can't build a comparable system for less (when including the Windows 8 license), and the form factor is one of the smallest I've seen for a full desktop system (while still giving easy access to the hard drive and memory for upgrade purposes)

IMO there isn't a better bang for the buck right now in it's category
