I think his biological dad totally told him to f off after he made an attempt to find him.
His adoptive parents were dead, and he had a lot of problems with his Grandparents.
The guy did have an epic mullet in the day though
Not as epic as

Spike was amazing, her friend with the partly shaved head was even sexier. Holy crap Degrassi was epic. The amount of real fleshed out characters was so impressive.
RIP Wheels.

Her name was Liz. It's amazing that, even after all of these years, you can see a few seconds of any episode and know exactly which one it was. This is where Joey tries to bang Liz. This one was where Wheels was taken down the gravel road by the man who looked like a younger Guy Lafleur. This is when Claude kills himself. In this episode, Joey gets in a fight with the guy with AIDS. Etc. Etc.
Very sad for Neil Hope, and very odd how it was kept quiet for so long.

All the Degrassi talk made me remember the theme song, and now it's stuck in my head.

The kid with AIDS was Duane. Other episodes, aside what you have mentioned, that stood out were the ones that spoke to abortion (one of the twins) and dating other races (basketball player... and ?) - great show and way ahead of its time. Makes me want to go and search out episodes on DVD.

i also think that it seemed more realistic than a similar show - Beverly hills 90210. None of the kids were rich, or drove fancy cars........I too would not mind seeing the series on DVD........

Was always a huge fan of the Zit Remedy... they only ever played 1 song. LOL. Joey had it going on with Caitlan but then screwed it up by banging Tessa... good times

This saddens me. I missed almost every lab for Computer Sciences 203 in my first year of Uni to stay in the common room in Rez to watch the Degrassi reruns on CBC. Our entire floor would watch before we went for dinner. Stupid Tessa, breaking up Joey and Caitlin!

Then best thing about this series was in the "School's Out!" special when Snake dropped the eff bomb that would change the face of Canadian television forever. It was bold, in your face and in prime time. CBC really showed their stones with that one.

Well yeah, but you hear a guy in his 30s died of 'natural causes' and there were complications and then everyone does their best to cover it up and ya gotta wonder, this guy probably didnt die with his pants on....

The irony is that Caitlin had cheated and dumped him for that goth dude (Claude I believe) a couple of years earlier.
