Just made the swap myself. Paying the same price as I was for wind but now have a proper network...if anyone else is swapping and feels like throwing in my phone number as a referral I'd be happy to PM it to you, just sayin!

For somebody who has signed up- do they have a US add on for data?

From what I understand, as of right now they don't have anything for the US. I don't even think you get service down there with a Public Mobile SIM. But it sounds like they're introducing US roaming add ons this month, but who knows how they'll be priced.

No US add on yet. Only add on I could get was the 400 minutes of international calling for $15.

Is there any point trying to get your current provider to match this deal? I have been with Virgin for a while now and have no complaints but this looks too good to pass on.

I tried with Rogers, as I expected, they said no. But just wanted to give them a chance!

My sim just came in the mail the other day. I might activate it tonight.
They also released information about US roaming:
$8 for unlim talk = 10 days
$8 for unlim text (no mms) = 10 days
$20 for 1GB = 10 days
$36 for the above for 10 days.

Yet. They are working on it. I was on board before they introduced this, even happier now to know it's available and very reasonable IMO. Hoping they can extend this kind of plan into other countries too.

Just looking at the coverage map I just see 4G, no LTE. For those of you with phones, are you showing 4G or LTE with your signal strength?
Don't get me wrong, 4G is still pretty good. I'm just at a point where I would only be saving $10 per month, but losing 2 GB of data. I rarely go over 3 GB, and if I do it's never two months in a row. So the 12 GB over 3 months may just work.

My phone (on PM) is currently showing LTE. It's absolutely available.

It's LTE on my iPhone. Been on this plan for a week and have noticed no difference between this and my Telus plan I had previously.

I have a 1+1 and it actually still says "Telus Mobile" as my carrier and have noticed absolutely no difference from when I was with Telus last month.
I would recommend this to anyone especially with the 4G/month for $40 promotion.

Dam! Sorry I missed the chance.
The referral works both ways though, I think? Both parties get a discount? If so, anyone porting over shortly, please use me as referral? Pretty please?

I've had them for a couple months, no problems at all. Used various unlocked phones and they all worked like a charm. Service is great, data speeds are fast. Best bang for your buck in the business.

Was super quick and painless to set up too. Just need to order the SIM card and wait for that to show up, which took 2 days.
Also note, the promo ends November 20th and you do need to order your SIM card ASAP to not miss out!

Switched over. Process was pretty painless and quick. Was a bit concerned about the province only local incoming call restriction but the long distance add-on seems to take care of that at a very reasonable price.
Got my sim pretty quick, only one day. If you still want in on the deal you should order it today ASAP.

FYI:
http://www.virginmobile.ca/en/plans/.../postpaid/byop
Virgin matched public mobile promo plan, I believe it expires on the 21st. It's in BC and AB only so if you don't see if online double check your province. It's per month and not 120 days like public and you can go in store.
