Probably shouldnt go beltless with a waist size over 30 inches. (Wearing pants with a 30 waist and gut overhang doesnt qualify.

If you are wearing pants without a belt, and showing your waist, I guarantee you will look back on photos of yourself in 5 years wondering wtf was I thinking.

Yes. They're called side tabs. The suit I'm wearing right now doesn't even have belt loops.

Using side tabs is like wearing a Dickie with no shirt.

Generally, you shouldn't wear a belt with a suit as it break up the look. If you have an opportunity to get a suit with side tabs/darts, do it. It looks great.
Also, please don't wear a belt for jeans with dress pants.
Also, please don't wear ankle socks with a business suit.
end rant.

Even with sidetabs, the 30 inch waist rule is a good rule. If youre not slim in the waist, then beltless will look like trash. A good tailor shouldnt even put them in for you if youre fat.

Weirdos.

Tell me about it. I saw a young guy at Chinook Centre yesterday sitting on the bench in pin-stripe suit, tie, fancy shirt with calf-links, pocket square, shiny shoes and no socks at all. It looked ridiculous.

Always unless you're wearing suspenders. Anyone still wear those?

No, he was dark-skinned with short buzz cut.

Seems like a lot of people have never worn a tux. Or buy pants that fit.

totally wrong.
A properly tailored pair of suit pants is entirely acceptable to be worn without a belt.
Some are, in fact, tailored to do so.

It has to be the right belt, but I'm in the camp of prefering a belt. However, I if you're rocking a three-piece then the vest covers for the belt nicely, but only if you're not overweight.
Shout out to whoeever said if you're all blacked out for entry level business or serving then 100% wear a belt.

I bought two pairs of Hugo Boss pants recently and noticed only at home that they did not have any belt loops. I like how they look and didn't return them after noticing that. So, I can't wear a belt with them. Feels a little uncomfortable not to wear a belt though...
