The Jets squander another game and blow their playoff chances. Things looked good after the 1st period, the teams had back and forth scoring as the Jets had a 3-2 lead. The 2 quick Jets penalties 47 seconds apart (Chiarot and Little) was the turning point of the game. The Pens scored 2 PPGs in 20 seconds and another goal 37 seconds after that. Bonino with the hat trick, Malkin gets 3 points, and Ruhwedel has 2 assists. The shots were fairly even through out the game.
The Bruins laid a 1st class whooping in the 1st period on the Red Wings by scoring 4 goals. Detroit had 3rd stringer goalie Jared Coreau start the game, he let 3 goals in 2:25, and his night was done midway though the 1st. Mrazek took over, but it was too late. The Red Wings did play hard in the final period. Krejci had 3 points, Marchand 2 goals, and Chara 2 assists.
The Senators are on a 4 game winning streak and Craig Anderson was the main reason they won as he faced 37 shots. The Stars out shot the Sens 17-2 in the 3rd period! The Stars coach even gave credit to Anderson. The Stars goaltending issues showed up again as Lehtonen let 3 goals in 18 shots. He was pulled early in the 2nd period and Niemi faced only 5 shots the rest of the game.
