Islanders will at least have more legs than the Wings did. Not a great start but the Oilers won't be able to half ass their way to points tonight. Isles have a lot to play for here.

That would require the Panthers to have fans.

Nashville, easily. They're going to be a top 3 central team. Their fortune isn't of much consequence to the Flames.
We want to reel in Anaheim.

Nashville to win. If they lose tonight we move into third place. Overall we still want Nashville losing games as they'll be battling the Blues for a wildcard spot/3rd place, but tonight we want a Ducks loss.

You know, I was trying to put my finger on what was different about the Oilers broadcasts. It finally dawned on me tonight. Most broadcasts will do their homework to give insight into the other team at various points in the game during stoppages. Even more so against out of conference teams that they don't play often, to help give the audience insight into players on the other side that they rarely see.
The Oilers broadcast uses their breaks to talk about the Oilers and pump their tires, regardless of the opponent. You learn little to nothing during an Oilers broadcast except how great, talented and proud the Oilers are.

And they're things that don't even make sense. Like, pushing their own player with a stick to make them faster?? What?? Or a depressing story about a young boy not knowing if his RCMP father would come home that night? Was Drew Remenda always this terrible?

It's too bad he hasn't taken his path to the NHL more seriously, as he's incredibly dynamic on the ice, and you can tell that if he had put serious effort into his development he'd easily be a star in the NHL.
He still can be, imo, if he has put the BS behind him and sees what it takes to actually play in this league. He had a really star-esque end to end rush earlier in this game.

It's pathetic, Makes me very appreciative that we get Rick Ball and to a lesser extent Hrudley every game. So much better

I'm surprised that they have Ho-Sang manning a point on the PP. Ballsy move.

I lol'd at the pushing stick analyzation. Got the game on mute.
Good for Ho-Sang, keep em coming.

Lol I swear there's a mandate to mention Connor McDavid at every opportunity. Even if there's no reason to be mentioning him. One of the broadcast guys literally just said Connor McDavid out loud to fill dead air as he was getting his bearings on his next interview/segment. It's actually really amusing.

They have to rest up against Calgary to stand a chance at The Mighty Oil.

There's too much orange and blue in this Islanders/Oilers game. It's disconcerting...
