Current odds to win the Stanley Cup this year
The reason i post this here is a simple one. Im going to Vegas next Monday and I plan on putting down 50 or 100 bucks on one of the following teams before I leave. Looking for some CP karma in making my decision. I love value bets and i see a few here. Obviously there are some usual suspect types, but im not necessarily going in that direction.
(BTW, the Flames could of fetched 60-1 just 3 weeks ago...tells you what kind of run they've been on and what the betting public thinks of them now)
Washington Capitals 15/4
Minnesota Wild 5/1
Chicago Blackhawks 13/2
Columbus Blue Jackets 10/1
Pittsburgh Penguins 10/1
Montreal Canadiens 12/1
New York Rangers 12/1
San Jose Sharks 14/1
Anaheim Ducks 20/1
Boston Bruins 20/1
Edmonton Oilers 20/1
Calgary Flames 28/1
Ottawa Senators 28/1
Los Angeles Kings 30/1
Nashville Predators 30/1
St. Louis Blues 35/1
New York Islanders 45/1
Florida Panthers 50/1
Tampa Bay Lightning 50/1
Toronto Maple Leafs 50/1
Philadelphia Flyers 70/1
Winnipeg Jets 85/1
Buffalo Sabres 250/1
Dallas Stars 250/1
Vancouver Canucks 250/1
Carolina Hurricanes 300/1
Detroit Red Wings 300/1
New Jersey Devils 300/1

So, what say you people?

Sutter's strategy is just to make the playoffs and then grind away through a 7 game series.
I'd put some money down on LA to win it at those odds.

Lightning at 50/1 is definitely worth throwing a few bucks on. If they sneak into the playoffs they will be a dangerous matchup.

Metro is such a tough call, but for value I like the chances of the 4th place crossover. Could be the Rangers. Too bad we won't know for sure for a while.
Out west, might be tempted going for a longer shot, like the Preds (or Flames).

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Sharks at 14-1 is likely the best value IMO.

I've already locked in money with 50/1 odds for the Flames before the season started. It took longer than I had hoped to see them start clicking as a team, but I feel they were severely underrated in the offseason.

Watching the Kings against the Canucks on Saturday - man, the Kings were brutal for the first two periods. When they start to come on, cripes, they look like an unstoppable freight train at full speed.

Pens at 10-1 seems like a no brainer. Nothing has changed on that team.

Didn't notice the Av's on there, must be a kick in the pants to be eliminated this early.

I leave for Vegas on Wednesday and I am putting $50 on each of these 4:
Pittsburgh Penguins 10/1
New York Rangers 12/1
San Jose Sharks 14/1
Calgary Flames 28/1

Well in terms of value 12 to 1 for the Rangers or 14 to 1 on the Sharks could yield the best payout. But I think Chicago is your best chance to turn that $50 into something.

I found a 60:1 oddsmaker in Vegas for the Flames to win the cup and got mine in at that while I was down there.
I look forward to going to collect in the summer. We can meet up and have beers
