Vancouver loses their starting goalie (this one is beyond anyone's control). Dallas has to deal with Vegas cheating. Just doesn't feel like a scenario where teams are being rewarded for their regular season play.
and last year we got the cheating knights round 1 :|

Well last year you were the 8th seed and neither the Flames or Jets were good down the stretch and it was a limp competition for the final spot...so that was a deserved match up.

In a desereved world this year its:

Dallas - Vegas
Vancouver - LA (Assuming division winners are still guaranteed top 2 seeds as they used to be)
Winnipeg - Nashille
Colorado - Edmonton

NHL really just needs to go back to a conference format of 1 vs 8.

Although really what screwed up this year was Vegas throwing the final game vs. Anaheim.

I didn't see the goal. Was it a bad one on Hellebuyck?

No such thing according to him.

Hope the Avs smoke the Jets 8-1 or something so Hellebuyck can explain how they cant get much past him.

I wish the Flames had a D guy as good as Makar.

I truly wonder if he would be keen to come home in 2027.

Every single team in the league does.

The growing comparisons to Bobby Orr are legit.

Its still very early to make grand proclamations, but there are certainly seeds planted to suggest he will be among the best ever if all goes well.

The identity of the Avs is so entertaining to watch. Every single guy seems to have a shifty speedy game. They may not all be MacKinnon, but they have several guys who can fly. Really keeps teams on their toes.

MacKinnon looks like a young Phil Kessel out there.

Like a <5% chance? Players going home is fan fiction, it rarely if ever happens with star players. They just play and re-sign on the team that drafted them if things are going well enough (and I'd imagine Colorado will still be a great team when he is up for contract) or they go to desirable destinations (New York, California, Florida etc).

Is there a scenario where the net comes off, the puck goes in, and it's a good goal?

Feels like that one should have counted for the avs?

No.
Rantenen should have been filled in for that late jab.

Rantanen is laboring something. Clearly not 100%, too bad.

Yeah, one can dream, maybe Flames are in good shape, new stadium etc. plus with climate change we could be an Arizona climate by then
