Alex Edler - Chris Tanev

If this is the Canucks lineup then by my count there will be 10 Flames draft picks in the season opener tonight:

Gaudreau
Monahan
Bouma
Backlund
Ferland
Bennett
Kulak
Baertschi
Prust
Cracknell

That's 1/4 of all players dressed....

I'm kind of amazed Cracknell made the roster. How poor is your forward depth when 3 rookies AND Adam Cracknell are on the opening day roster.

He played his way onto the team. He was one of the more noticeable Canucks I saw in the games I watched.

For some reason I didn't think that the Flames season started until tomorrow night, this is a great surprise.. but one I wish I could have made towards the end of the work day.

Go Flames Go!

I predict a Canucks 4-2 win in an entertaining and hard-fought game. Bo Horvat will score and the legend will grow.
LMAO, I guess with Lack gone they need a new legend.

I think leans more towards how craptastic the Canuck's training camp was more so then how well Cracknell played. He was a decent fill in for the Blues last year but if he's a regular you have depth issues.

I love game days, so much easier to waste time at work...

Looks like our best start to a season since the 04 lockout was in 2009-10 when we went 4-0 to start the year and won 7 of the first 10. Last year was actually one of our better starts, amazingly, with a 5-4-1 record through 10 games.

Absolutely - I mean, the Flames are currently tied with the Oilers in the Pacific Division standings.

The Vancouver forward core gets really shaky after the first 5 players. That is really thin.

Love those lines. Legitimately dangerous top line. Do anything and everything line. Favorable matchup line with great young talent. 4th line that at one point could have been our second line.

And that D core is still missing Brodie? Neato.

I'm predicting a Ferkland hat-trick.

1 goal
1 fight
10 hits

Dorsett will foolishly challenge him tonight and get fed his lunch and have all the Canuck fans finally shut up about Ferland being a 'wannabe tough guy'.

Bollig pots in one as well.

Hudler gets a goal and an assist.

3-1 Flames.

Yes it was a really good start given they laid an egg in the opener against the Canucks. I recall they were so bad in that game that it really looked like the team many expected to be front and center in the McDavid sweepstakes but then game two happened and they started playing much better.
