Logitech Z-5500 Speakers

I've been looking to buy a set of these speakers for quite a while now, and can't seem to find the combination of a reasonable price and a store that actually has them in stock.

My brother bought these speakers about 20 months ago from Futureshop for something like $279, and somehow the retail price for these same speakers is $499!

About a month ago I saw Newegg.ca advertising them for ~$327, which would be about $415 after taxes and $70 of shipping fees (55 pound box from California FTL). At the time I was hoping for a price drop on Newegg so I could price match it in store at Futureshop, but I waited too long and since then the price has changed to "This product is no longer available."

Does anybody know a source where I could get these speakers for $400 or less?

EDIT: Best Buy said they no longer have any Z-5500s in stock. Is this model discontinued and soon to be replaced by a new model possibly?

Thanks for the info Russic. The TigerDirect deal looks pretty reasonable.

I've heard of the company before but does anybody have experience purchasing from them? Is their DC located in eastern Canada? The estimated delivery day was 12 days out so that seems logical.

I've only bought one item off Tiger Direct and had no issues at all. Item showed up before the expected delivery date to boot. I have no issues and based on my first experience, I would have no hesitation to use them again. I know a ton of people that use them. It's like New Egg in the States.

Yikes, that sucks. I bought mine for $250 on sale 2 years ago at Future Shop.

Tiger Direct has them for $330. Pay that, not the shipping.

So Memory Express will actually price match the quote price on the website without adding shipping costs? Their lowest price guaranteed policy from memoryexpress.com seems to contradict that.

That's what confused me too. I can't see any retailer price-matching a website without including shipping.

Staples used to carry them. I bought a set of Z2300's from them a year ago
for under $140.00 on sale.
Might want to give them a call about the Z5500's.

No Problem, glad I could help you guys save some money. I do this all the time, it's a great way to offset the shipping costs.

These speakers (5500 and 2300) use to be a lot cheaper, but the prices have gone way up lately. I wouldn't expect Staples to have the Z-5500 for cheap. I know they sell the 2300s for around $210.
