On reddit users are reporting that they are getting 5800bps on netflix for the xbox one, same as the PS4..

Some have stated you may need to uninstall your netflix app, and reinstall it.

The difference between rendering a game in 1080p and playing a video in 1080p is astronomical.

Also, netflix needs ~12mbps for 1080p? That's a pretty bottom of the barrel throughput for a quality video.

The H264/H265 codec is pretty badass.

All PS4 games on sale at Target for $35, some cases $25 (Just Dance/Angry Birds...)

Target has had some solid gaming software sales for the last while on any console platform.

The developers for the other multiplatform games ended up lowering the native resolution on the Xbone instead (affecting both image quality and resolution I guess).

However, there is some guy changed his hair color between the systems for some strange reason.

The Xbox picture looks more zoomed in than the P$4 picture.

The idea on which the statement is based makes no sense. It was stated already, but the sort of processing required to render a 1080p video versus rendering a 3D game at 1080p is so remarkably dissimilar so as to make such a statement vacuous at best.

The fact that you understood the sentence does not mean it made sense at any practical level. If that was how it worked, my crappy HP desktop running as a HTPC can easily render 1080p video, so why the hell can't I run a PC game like MW2 at ultra settings at 1080p without it crapping itself?

Kinda neat I guess - makes sense given the tech.

http://kotaku.com/microsofts-kinect-...der-1514792443

North Korea and South Korea are separated by the most heavily armed border on Earth. But rest easy, there's a new guard on the lookout: Kinect.

Self-taught South Korean programmer Jae Kwan Ko developed a Kinect-based software system to monitor the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), which separates the two countries. It was deployed at the border last August, but its existence wasn't made public until recently.

"I've never even thought of a game system performing national defense tasks," Ko is quoted as saying. In the future, Ko says the sensor will detect heart rates and heat—which sounds like the DMZ's Kinect guard will be upgraded to the Xbox One version.

That article is stupid. (No offense to you, Chemgear). That sort of technology has been around for years and is readily available on mid-range security systems. Maybe using Kinect makes it cheaper, but it definitely isn't anything new.

Oh ok so it's just another snappy drive by you did? You totally understood him just decided to make a snide little comment and then stand back at your computer and think "I'm so much smarter than him". Congrats.

Of course playing a video is easier on a computer than rendering a game in 1080p. He was making a jab at MS and it was funny.

Heh, no worries - I thought that Kinect (2) did bring some new stuff to the table though. But you might be right, perhaps just a more mainstream cost effective option rather than something costing much, much more.

The point is that Xbox One is inferior hardware and it's not surprising it's inferior in another new way.

Didn't really consider the technical side of it because I don't really care and that's not the point.

Can you all quit being babies and take a moment to recognize that after tonight my headset is going to finally work? Be incredibly happy for me!

Combined with Outlast for free on PS+, people may have go on a diaper run just in case.
Wondering if I should consider getting a dedicated wireless headset as I believe the Dualshock 4 doesn't push out 7.1 surround sound through the headphone jack?
