I'm not sure how I feel about this event. I'm happy to have my first Marowak and I'm very happy to be grabbing more candy from my buddy but when there aren't any interesting Pokemon to catch it's kind of boring walking around.

Expect to see a lot more Gengars in gyms in the next few days. I just went out for a short while, And I caught enough gastlys to evolve the best one I caught all the way to a Gengar, and I have about as much gastly candy as I had before.

I went out over lunch and holy cow the amount of cubones and ghastleys. It is crazy.

Also I took the above suggestion and set Magicarp as my buddy and earned about 15 candies, only 330 more to go till I can evolve one!

Also with the double candies for transfers I just got rid a lot of duplicates and collected lots of candies.

I noticed it wasn't working again.

Ran into a Mr Mime in a Gym, so that shows up as seen in my Pokedex.

The best part of the Halloween update is the candy bonus from eggs.

Hatching an egg gives you a ton of candy. I think I saw 40 from a single egg and I swear the eggs are more rare than normal. I have gotten several new Pokemon from eggs the last few days and the rare ones came with enough candy to evolve right away.

I finally hatched a Charmander, the only Charmander I've ever seen is the very first Pokemon I ever caught. It came with about 20 candies.

Definitely liking the extra hatch candy.

Getting a bit tired of Cubone, Gastlys, and Meowths. A couple of weeks ago, I had a meowth as my buddy for a while to get enough candies for a Persian. Now I have around 180 meowth candies, and no meowths really worth evolving.

Hatched a porygon yesterday...yet to see one in the wild. 10 km eggs seem more plentiful this past week as well.

Evolved a Charmeleon, and hatched a Voltorb (also got 37 candies with this guy)
Up to 109 in my Pokedex now.

FastPokeMap app shows me Pokemon for maybe half a second, before everything disappears for me. Anyone else also having problems with it. Basically I'm at the point now where I'll need a tracking app to find anything, or just happen to get things from a hatch. The least amount of walking I need to do to get enough buddy candy for any one new Pokemon is about 50km.

Halloween event finally ended this afternoon. I'm enjoying seeing most other Pokemon from time time again, but sad that I only get 3 candies when I catch them now.

I'm going to be running a lucky egg again tonight, and that should take me to level 25.

Trackers are working, used that to get a Doduo, Pokedex now at 110.

Kind of glad it is over for the ones that were available. Ghastlies, QBones and Meowths were becoming the new weedles, pidgies and rattatas.
Going to miss the candies and easy collecting with my buddy though.

I'm jealous of your Doduo - my Pokedex is at 128 but I've never seen one yet. A mere 1000km of walking will get me the candy to evolve 10 of the remaining Pokemon but I'm going to need some luck to get Hitmonchan, Tangela, Doduo and Dodrio.

My 110 Pokedex has zero dragons. No dratini/dragonair/dragonite/aerodactyl/gyrados
But I have chansey and porygon both from the wild.

The GF has not closed the app yet (and it hasn't froze like mine did, forcing restart)... So she is still happily walking 1.25Km to get a Dratini candy.
