So how does VIPGolf work out if you want to play a lot of rounds, let's say 50 a year? I'm thinking of not joining a club this year and try out VIPGolf. But I find you get the most savings with VIPGolf during weekdays or after 2pm on the weekends.

I have VIP and played around 50 rounds. Most of mine were during the day as i work shift work and i found it really good. Tee times are out there but you just need to be able to plan ahead to get weekend/evening ones.

Found a golf ball on the loading dock at Scotia Center last night.First sign of spring.
Found out Tobiano opens Apr 07 when I got home.
Found a playing partner to join me at Tob on Apr 09 within an hr and a half.
Along with other things that happened this week, life is pretty good.

We've had crazy warm weather here the last week, going back towards normal tomorrow after some thunderstorms tonight, we set a February record yesterday with a high of 18.3C.
I played two rounds this week as the quicker drying courses took advantage and opened. It was crazy how busy both were!

Ended up hitting some balls at the Highwood as they opened their driving range.

I'm headed to Puerto Vallarta and plan on playing three rounds to start out the season.
I've been going to GolfTEC over the winter and really like the program there although it is pretty expensive. I'm hitting my driver longer than ever before and no longer slice. Hopefully the handicap takes a good drop this year.

Well after working in the pro shop at one local course for the last five years I am moving on. Decided to go with a membership at Lynx Ridge this year. They have a really affordable Young Professionals program - $2,100 for the season.
This will be the first time I've paid for golf since 2011! In the meantime though I've definitely worked up quite a solid collection of equipment and clothing. Virtually brand new everything. Shouldn't have to spend any money except for membership dues for a couple of years!

Lynx was in pretty good shape last year.
Once you get past the first three holes, I really like the course.

Yeah, that sounds expensive, but sounds like it was worth it.
I was thinking of going for 5 lessons and a swing eval, before golf season starts.

Downside to the Lessons packs is they don't come with practice time afterwards. They do have good instructors that's for sure. One of the Pro's at my club was going there.

I asked about practice time and he said "You can purchase individual practice the day of for half hour and the rate is $30."

I'd definately tack on the practice. They give you really info during the lesson and it's great to work on it using the video replay afterwards.

If any sees or hears of a grass range opening, please post it here. I just got my new 917 and want to take it for a whirl.

Played the Jubilee course at St Andrews last week and toured Trumps course. I need to go back and golf Trumps course, the most magical looking course one could imagine. Standing on the first tee box, all you see is monster dunes, lush green fairways (rare this time of year) and the green in the distance. You are literally dialed in on that hole and can see nothing else around you.
St Andrews is a place you would want to buy the 3 day unlimited golf package and golf as many of the 7 courses while staying in St Andrews for the 3 days before moving on.

I've played Trump's course in Aberdeen and agree its a phenomenal track. Probably the best course I've played anywhere in the world. Still hope they build the wind farms though.
Getting married in St Andrews next year and staying on after the wedding to play a bunch of rounds. Best place in the world.
Btw - for anyone wanting to play the old course... Just turn up to the starters box as a single and you'll have no problems. Might wait an hour or 2 but its not much of a hardship to sit in the wee café and watch ppl tee off for a while.
