Flames can pretty much bury LA with a win next week.

Amazing that last month they were down to about a 20% chance of making the playoffs, now over 70%--highest all year.

L.A. wins their two games in hand and they're two points back of the Flames. Hardly buried yet.

Yup, especially since we're playing them a total of 4 more times this season.

Do they not look at the standings?

I guess there's always that franchise tag from teams that have always sucked but are having a good season, but the Lightning were behind the Flames in the standings, the Panthers pretty much equal.

If you have a wildcard team in a dogfight coming in you have to assume it won't be easy.

Thought the Loubo comments the other day from his chats with Gulutzan were interesting. Said he and Wills have been chatting all season about how GG felt the team would be solid once they didn't waver from their system.

LA wins 3 out 4 of against us we are the ones buried they also have 2 games at hand. I fully expect this going the distance and being decided at the final game of the season. Keep winning boys!

Seems like every game Matthew Tkachuk is creating something. I wonder what this Flames team would look like this season without Matthew Tkachuk. We would probably still be looking for someone to fit on that line with Frolik and Backlund.

you're right, but so is he ....

the Kings are sputtering, and the Flames have 3 of the 4 games at home. I think 2 weeks ago I would have said the Flames need to take 3/4 of the game, now winning 2 of 3 on home ice probably puts the Kings in trouble.

this week the Flames have won in Nashville, Tampa and Miami, while the Kings have lost ground against beatable teams or gained points while burning the easiest game left on their schedule

The kings don't look like they are a playoff team, I think at this point the playoffs are more likely than not for Calgary.

Flames are playing pretty good hockey right now. If they can sneak in, i like their odds of uppsetting a #1 or #2 seed.

GG gets a lot of flack on this site, but he has them playing something that resembles playoff hockey, unlike the last coach.

Probably better that we are the underdogs, especially as the Oilers know a thing or 2 about winning.

Agreed. Flames are just coming into their own while the Kings are flagging. I smell playoffs.

When Monny and Johnny get going, this team may be legitimately dangerous.

LA faces two tough opponents in the Ducks today and the Wild Monday before taking on the Flames on the second leg of a back-to-back. They could be in a very deep hole by then.

That's crazy.

You know what makes for great Flames hockey? A healthy and respected battle with our rivals. It pushed us to new heights.

It's no coincidence that some of our best seasons were in the 80s when we fought the Oil in the playoffs. It's time to regain that, win or lose.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I understand your position. I just hate them that much and want them to be terrible forever. Especially with the McJesus BS.

I lived through the 80s playoffs and getting over the hump was amazing, but I would simply rather always be better than them.
