Toronto Blue Jays (84-62, conquering Kings of the universe) vs. Boston Red Sox Sux (69-76, could be eliminated after this series)
Probable Starters:
Friday @5:00 Mountain Time: TOR: Marcus Stroman, 1-0, 5.40 ERA; BOS: Rick Porcello, 8-12, 5.06 ERA
Saturday @2:00 Mountain Time (note the different-than-usual start time): TOR: R.A. Dickey, 10-11, 4.08 ERA; BOS: Wade Miley, 11-10, 4.41 ERA
Sunday @11:00 Mountain Time: TOR: Mark Buehrle, 14-7, 3.66 ERA; BOS: TBD
Every day that passes makes it more and more unlikely that the Yankees will catch up to the Jays! Only 16 games left for the good guys, and an 8-8 record gets them to 92 wins ... Yankees would need 13 wins in their last 17 to eclipse that mark. Not bad. Will be very interesting to see Marcus Stroman pitch again - he could have easily gone another inning if not more if the weather in New York co-operated for his first start. I thought he looked great but that's no Earth shattering comment - seems everyone felt that way. Can only imagine how pumped the fans at the 'Dome will be to see him pitch at home.
And how about that start from Estrada last night? I've given up on waiting for him to fall back to Earth ... the guy has just been lights out and a terrific follow-up to Price in the rotation.
Gotta hope that playing the stupid Red Sox at home will be more favorable to the Jays. Also hope that Donaldson gets the bat going as he's had a bit rough of a go at it the past little while. Either way, the countdown is on ... playoff baseball is within our grasp!

The other race to start watching is for the best record in baseball to ensure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. We're now just two games back of the Royals and at this point I wouldn't be surprised at all if we're in first within a week. Amazing.

I hope the Jays remember losing pretty badly 2 games in Boston recently, and find some drive to thump these guys this weekend. The playoffs are so close that it's time to start treating every series like a playoff series and ramp up play BEFORE the playoffs start.
