Haha, I think I can kind of tell what you're saying. Are you thinking the Angels might be intentionally hitting Jays hitters at the end of this game because of that challenge that got the call overturned?

If so, my goodness. They're right in the thick of the wildcard race, they're not doing anything that stupid just because it's the end of the series and they didn't like a challenge, they'd be risking suspensions going forward, which would be third level stupid considering their position.

Ok, serious question: Does eye-black actually do anything for a player? Like, how does it help Pillar when he's running it into his sideburns?

Guaranteed this Angels ballclub isn't going to do anything like that. They don't have garbage clowns in their ballclubs like the Orioles and Royals do. Just my opinion.

It was a 3 run lead at the time of the challenge in the 5th inning. Nothing bush league about it.

Yes, it does, just takes a small amount of glare out so it's slightly easier to read the ball off the bat on sunny days, or to be able to see fly balls.

1st place! After that Philly series things felt a little off and I figured we were at least another week from this series before we could take 1st again.

AL East, as a division, has been so up and down standings wise until the Jays made those trades to solidify the team. They look like the most consistent team right now in that division, bias aside, I would not be surprised if the boys in Blue run with the division lead after all the AL East heavy schedule next month.

True, but everyone has their own idiosyncrasies.

Plus, why the heck would you risk injuring a key player on the Blue Jays when they're next playing the team you're directly chasing for the Wild Card position?

Scoscia is well aware that poor pitching and defence are why they surrendered 36 runs in 3 games. He's got plenty to fix on his own team, that he doesn't need to worry about throwing at guys on the other team.

Odd how they get rid of Josh Hamilton and now they're awful, yet Texas now isn't even though he didn't play for Anaheim all year and has been injured a lot for Texas.

Go Stroman

Quote:
Marcus Stroman (knee) reported feeling "great" after throwing a 40-pitch simulated game on Monday.

Stroman will throw another simulated game this Friday and should then be cleared to join Buffalo for a minor league rehab assignment. If he continues to progress at such a rapid pace, the young right-hander could have a legitimate shot at making some starts for the Blue Jays in September. There's also been talk of the Jays using him as a reliever. Stroman, 24, has been out all season with a torn left ACL.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to have Stroman and Estrada or Hutch piggy back in the playoffs assuming they get there. Stroman for say the first 4 innings and the other guy for the next 3 or 4.
