Sports is generally a release to real life, but sometimes life is heavy to the point that you really can't get into your "releases". This fall that was the case for me. Didn't "feel" like the playoffs. First time ever my team was in the playoffs and I didn't feel any different, I didn't really care. Very VERY Thankful for a lot, I got a ton of breaks over the past two weeks... like more than I deserve, to the point when it came to sports I really didn't care.
I'm happy for most Jays fans (not the beer can throwing ones, not the blind ones that are being arse wipes) but most of them. Guys like Donaldson, Pillar, Martin, Barney, Tulo, Carrera, Saunders, Upton, Sanchez, Happ, Estrata, Stroman, deserve all the success they get.
The post-game interviews from Donaldson and Pillar, despite questions setting them up for the d*bag responses were nothing but class. Hats off to them.
In fact, I think it'd be kind of cool to say that the last four MLB games I was at I saw a team that was in the World Series.
At the end of the day, the fact that my unborn little one is progressing on a healthy track, which was in question 2 weeks ago, I really don't care that my ball team is out... I've never experienced a championship, and now if I ever do experience one, I'll get to celebrate with my child. How freakin' cool is that?
Congrats Jays fan. Only game I truly got to watch was tonight and it was fun. Good luck the rest of the way.

I can be as negative as the worst of them, but regardless of how the rest of the playoffs go you truly have to sit back and appreciate what we've been able to witness since last August with this team.
Incredible.

Spoken like a fan of a team with years of wins, back to back years, in playoff series:
-For one team, since 92/93
-For another not since 88/89
Have no idea what it would be like to be a Wings and SF Giants fan.
Fitting that it's Odor. Moreland throws with the other arm, and it's a real close play at the plate as he had to turn and square his body after he dropped it.
Also, Jays still owe Odor a beaning next regular season too.

As much as I hate Texas, I gotta say that their coaching decisions weren't all that bad given those situations the relievers were brought in for. It's a do or die game, and Bush was punching everyone out. Hard to blame the coach for going for it on that one. I estimate that 95% of players in the league wouldn't have gone home on that play, so it was fantastic to see such smart play take place. And of course Odor f'ing up bigtime.

I think EE should get some huge props for the slide into second. It was perfect.

Yeah Bush was awesome, but still he is a rookie and to leave him in for 3 innings seems a little much in such a high pressure situation. Imagine if Gibbons left Osuna in for 3 innings? People would flip out.

Good to get rest until Friday, and start on the road to get away from the media crush in Toronto the next few days, planning parade routes.
Hope Cleveland wins, but not until Boston stretches thier pitching out over the next few days. Dont know if I can stomach any more cheap HRs 300 ft to right over a 4ft wall.

I meant interesting funny, not saying it's ridiculous. Plus there was only what 6 games between teh Ranger and Wild Card teams? There was bound to be anomalies like that.

Bautista saying he hopes Cleveland wins tomorrow so that they get the same rest as the Jays. That makes sense to me. Jays are beat up and for sure could use the rest, especially the bullpen, but they've been playing (and succeeding) in high pressure, ridiculously intense situations for quite a while now and carrying that momentum. Hopefully a break here doesn't take them out of that groove they're in. And if it does, maybe Cleveland cools off a bit too if they win tomorrow and have some days off too.

The guy I'm most worried about with the break is Estrada. Seems to falter when out of his routine

The team is playing really and my fear is like yours, a break of some length might get them out of the rythym they are in.

That was a great slide by EE. He really jammed Odor up. What's a heads up play by JD.
Osuna was simply amazing again.
