Default Recommend a Painter?

First of all, thanks for all the input to those who contribute!

I need a good painter, who comes cheap (I need a good-guy deal). I realize this is an oxymoron.. so we can save with those posts. If this thread gets tossed into oblivion, that's alright with me too.

Does anyone have a painting company, or know of a good painter that has realistic quotes? I did a general search of 'painting' and came up with a very old thread.

Just a quick question, reply if you'd like to.

How about you go spend 500 bucks on paint, brushes and rollers at Home Depot, and not be a lazy ass, and do it yourself. Painting is about as hard as ironing a shirt, err.......... nm, you should hire someone.

We used a company called A1 Painting. The guy who did the work was Phil. I thought he did a good job.

If you opt to tackle the job yourself I strongly recommend getting paint at Benjamin Moore. The paint is more expensive, but it has less water and more color. It hardly splatters when you paint.

Out of all the things you can pay someone to do, painting is the one thing I never hesitate on. I'm sure with enough time an patience I can do a good job, but I can't stand doing it.

It's also one of those things that when you find a good talented painter, it's worth the money.

To me painting is like mowing a lawn or waxing a car. I find it oddly therapeutic.

I find certain things therapeutic-- painting is not one of them.

I agree with Mastodon. I've heard of these semi-retired guys who will come in, take a few measurements, show up with paint, collect cash.

My grandpa does this, but he moved from the city a few years ago, so can't help you.
