So the main female character of rogue one is going to be Rey's mom isn't she.

Brunette, English accent, look kinda alike, can't just be a coincidence.

Feels like a way they will tie Rey to the past without making her a sky walker or maybe Luke had a thing for her.

Although the timing probably doesn't work with TFA being 40 or so years after this movie takes place.

I tend to think that's a bit of a stretch.

It looks like we're not going to see Jedi, which is kind of what I want since this is a time when the Jedi are all but extinct and their fire has been put out by Order 66 and the Empire.

Effects wise it looks awesome, but it looks like the main evil villain is a Hux wannabe with his cape. I really was hoping to see a younger Tarkin, because they're portrayed him so well in Rebels.

I didn't mind the Star Destroyer scene, the installation of the super laser looked pretty cool.

That actress is a dead ringer for Mon Mothma.

After nearly six months in theaters, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has finally ended its domestic theatrical run, and its concluding box office tally is a doozy. When all is said and done, The Force Awakens scored a grand total of $936,662,225. While it scored the all-time domestic record some time ago, surpassing Avatar’s tally of $760,507,625, the film just kept going and going, not just breaking the record but destroying it. It also far outgrossed the prior top-performing Star Wars film, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, which finished with $474,544,677 in 1999.

But while The Force Awakens is the domestic box office champ, it didn’t have the stamina to outperform James Cameron’s two juggernauts internationally. J.J. Abrams’ film has a worldwide total of $2.068 billion, which is enough to secure the #3 spot on the all-time worldwide chart, but is short of Titanic’s $2.186 billion or Avatar’s still-insane $2.788 billion.

Boo-urns. I wanted to see Star Wars at the top of the list because Avatar sucked.

I was thinking about that, I went and saw it in the theatre, and it was ok, but I went out and bought the Superduper Blueray of it when it first came out, and the thing is still in the shrink wrap, I've never even been the least bit tempted to watch it again.

It was like Pacific Rim, I'm baffled to this day about how you could take a monster versus Robot flick and make it so terrible. That should be a no brainer one page script with Oscars all around.

Pacific Rim may be cheesy but the robot fights are cool so I didn't care. I watched Avatar on bluray because it looked so much better on my TV than it did with 3D reducing the quality of the image in the theatre, but I've certainly had no desire to go back to it.

Well then you should have gone and seen it in the theaters about 70 million times, or taken a friend 35 million times. Don't just complain about it afterwards like some kind of wiener.

Yes, yes, but can we at least agree that Avatar sucked?

I'm glad I watched Avatar in 3D Imax.

I'll also never watch it again.

I watched ti a few months ago ,just to see if it was a good movie. I had seen it once in theatres and thought it was kind of meh, and foudn the 3D was distracting. My conclusion is that it is not a very good movie. Some of the effects are good, but it is long, and the plot is so meh.

Avatar = Fern Gully The Last Rainforest on steroids. Only thing missing is a crazy Bat voiced by Robin Williams. "I'm Blind!.......I can see! It's a Miracle!"

I've never seen Avatar and most likely never will. I just hate the movie simply because whenever people ask me what my favorite tv show is I can't refer to it as Avatar because people will automatically think of "that movie with the blue people" and I can't call it The Last Airbender because of ####ing Shyamalan. So in short, James Cameron and M Night can go screw themselves.

What about people who never saw Avatar?

Cause that's me.

I thought Avatar was good.

Quality-wise there's very little, other than brand name, separating it from something like Star Wars: The Force Awakens. A big, silly, special-effects heavy sci-fi fantasy with kind of a flimsy plot.

It's overlong and has a bit of a cliche plot, but it's certainly enjoyable and an impressive achievement in film making.

There is also the distinct lack of self importance and the presence of humour in Star Wars.

Avatar was simply Dances with Wolves on another planet.
