Good call. I will be interviewing Jason Markusoff tomorrow - who did a lot on the arena when at the Herald - now at Maclean’s, but still Calgary based and Alberta focused.

Has the City completely abandoned all interest in boulevard maintenance and weed control? Weeds are out of control driving in and out of downtown. It’s embarrasing.

JBR, use the 311 app on your phone. It actually works really well, they do get to things within a few weeks... which is better than lamenting that they don't do anything about it on a forum.

This is a big city, sometimes it takes a few sets of eyes before something gets identified as a problem that needs addressing.

Ask him what kind of "art" he's going to build with his f'n speed trap fines.

Over 76,000 speeding tickets in so-called construction zones for the first 6 months this year compared to 5000 total in 2017. considering the speed fines double he should be able to do a whole lot better than a stupid blue ring or a crap house dress-up. Maybe do a Gateway Arch aka St.Louis but over HWY 2 north and call it the Gateway Arch to no good

Maybe ask Mayor Can’t Help Himself why he thinks, particularly now, that it’s in the best interests of Calgarians to piss off the premier of Ontario. Maybe, just maybe, it would not be a bad idea in these difficult times to have the premier of Canada’s largest province on Alberta’s side?

He might not be wrong on the issue but sometimes it’s best to keep quiet and mind your own business.

This probably isn't the place but I'm not starting a new thread for a potentially stupid question. I've noticed for the last few weeks that Nenshi's left eye has been really swollen. To the point that it looks to be only partially open.

I know he had some eye surgery a few years back. Is this related to that?
