Go to a sleep doctor and get tested. This isn't really a take it or leave type of thing. You either need it or don't and until you get tested you won't know.

I snore badly. So I'm just wondering.
And I've busted my nose at least 3 times so my septum is all messed up too.

That'll hold you until you talk to a real medical professional... which you'll need to do before you get that prescription filled.

If it's a nose problem I don't think it's sleep apnea. Sleep Apnea is when the airway closes and the pressure from the machine keeps it open. If the problem is in your nose, I'm not sure it will do anything for you. However, snoring really isn't in the nose either ... soooo ...
But getting tested is free, so why not. They make money on selling those machines though, so I'm sure they won't hesitate to sell you one

It depends if you need the machine for central sleep apnea or obstructuve sleep apnea.
Machines for central sleep apnea are much mor expensive...about $4500. and are actually called a BPAP machine.
Machines for obstructive sleep apnea should run about $1500.

Hey, I was recently shopping for a new CPAP mask and CPAP machine and I found out through this site that they are selling them on Amazon. I didn't even think that was allowed as it is a prescription medical device!
They do have good prices on there. Does anybody know if they are legit to buy on Amazon? I don't want to get ripped off.
Thanks!

^ I looked on Amazon.ca and they also sell machines.
I don't know what to think - I am not sure what amazon's policy is on stuff like this. Your credit card may offer some protection if you opt to purchase

I've purchased most of my replacement parts on Amazon.com the last few years. No issues.

So does anyone know where one can rent a CPAP Battery Pack in Calgary? My wife is trying to get me to go camping, and I know I can do this with the battery pack, but I don't particularly want to spend $500 on something we may do once every three years.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you just go to Canadian Tire and get one of those booster boxes for $100? I assume you are car camping. You don't need a special battery if you just plug it into a power socket.

I was thinking that. How many hours juice could I get out of that before having to charge it back up again?

A quick search of other users who did it said 2-3 days, depending on the size of battery and if you use a humidifier. Suggestions are to turn the humidifier off if you can.

Anyone used one of these?: http://zyppah.com/snoring-solutions/
I just got one a week ago, and it has worked quite well so far. Only negative is it hurts my teeth for almost the whole day afterwards. Curious to see if that's the same for anyone else.
Also - my Zyppah had a good run for this past week, until this:

Apologize for the bump.
Where are you folks buying machines and accessories these days?
Got my sleep study results, and I need a machine. The local place charges $200 per month for a rental, which I conder a ripoff for something I'll eventually end up buying anyways.

Do your benefits cover any of it? I go to Respiratory Homecare Solutions (RHS) but I doubt they would be the cheapest.
