Ya the selection online sucks and I also need size 13s which is limiting. I tried pro hockey life but no dice as well

Adrenaline had a selection of skates and gear for inline. My kid played this spring and we got his stuff there. There were two people buying adult skates at the same time.

Can't offer advice but I was really upset as I started to read some of the comments, then I looked over at the date posted and it make me shake my head and think as to how far we have come in only a short period of time.

It's true. I've never forgiven the gays for co-opting rollerblading from the rest of us. I used to love rollerblading.

Best of luck with your search op. I've still got my fingers crossed rollerblading makes a comeback.

Good to hear there are at least a few people still rollerblading in Calgary. There are some great pathways for it. Confederation park, Nose Creek, the Reservoir loop, and the Bow river from Southland drive to Beaver Dam flats and the City to Shouldice park were some of my favourites.

Supposedly it used to be hugely popular in Australia 15-20 years ago but now the only people I see inline skating are the occasional random weirdos and 8 year old girls. I tried to bring it back when I moved here but obviously wasn't cool enough. Hopefully the trend is cyclical and it comes back into style in a few years however.

This is totally unhelpful, but rollerblading is making a comeback. There's rollerblading exclusive stores in Vancouver now...I was pretty shocked.

There's also one in Calgary:

And a roller skate store?

https://www.nerdskates.com/

I guess roller derby is big enough that it supports its own store now....crazy.

I'm embarrassed to see my comment.

This year I have seen a lot more people roller-blading around Henderson Lake in Lethbridge than I remember seeing over the past couple of years. I'm thinking of dusting off mine and making sure my kids have skates that fit and making it a once or twice a week thing to do.

I have seen a small selection of in-lines for sale at Source for Spors and Sport Chek here in Lethbridge so there should be some at the locations in Calgary too. I think Canadian Tire still sells in-lines, no?

There's a specialty shop in Kensington on 10a street across from Modern Steak. Probably your best bet.
