Flames vs Kings, 7:30 MST. Sportsnet West, Sportsnet One, Fan 960
There's never a dull moment around here, is there? One team in the thick of the playoff hunt, the other fighting for their playoff lives. Knaves and royalty - it's the Flames and the Kings tonight at the 'Dome!
These particular Kings are trying to climb that Hill, but That Darn Puppet has an entirely different appreciation for propane and propane accessories:
Spoiler!
Go Flames

Should be a good game, with Kings trying to claw back in (Six points out of a wild card spot). The kings always play physical, so will be a bruising game.
Could it be one of the last times we see Jarome Iginla in the dome?

True, but thats why he said "one" of the last times.
I do think Iginla is done after this season. Not even really going to be his choice as I doubt any team would want to sign him.
I disagree the man has 21 points and 11 goals, most of which he got with the worst team of the decade. Some one will pay the man a Million for a year. The only reason Iginla would be done playing NHL hockey would be if he retires. Some team will take a chance on him.

Yeah, that can defintely be true.
I just think he isnt good enough for top 6 anymore and frankly, I would take an energy guy like Hathaway or Ferland instead to play bottom six minutes.
One has to remember that there will be 23 more roster spots available next year due to Las Vegas entering the league. Guys like Iginla will find a home somewhere for at least one more year. He's probably better than 23 other guys not currently playing in the NHL (14 if you want to be technical and limit it to forwards).

Maybe Glencross attempts to make a comeback next year.
Still looks in grear condition and seems like he was forced to retire.
It's still far from official, but a win tonight should pretty much guarantee the Flames a playoff spot. An 11 point lead over LA with 10 games remaining would be near insurmountable. It would also be a huge confidence boost for the team to win their way into the playoffs rather than hanging on for dear life down the stretch.
I see that Quick has been really good coming back into the lineup. Kings just came off a 7 game home stand against easier competition save the Capitals game and managed a 4-2-1 record. Thats not going to get things done for them. I wonder of they'll run exclusively with Quick from here on in until its officially over.
Flames need to be ready, this looks like a 2-1 grind fest.

A Flames regulation win goes a long way in locking up that playoff spot sooner than later. If the Kings go 0-Alberta then it is pretty much time to put a fork in them
