Have you got any ink? What's it of? Does it mean anything to you, or is it just a cool concept? Planning on getting more?
I've got two tattoos, though I plan to get more. One is a Chinese/Western style dragon on my left shoulder. It's actually a Water Dragon from the Chinese Zodiac, because the year my son was born made him a Water Dragon. Sadly, none of the pictures I have do it any justice.
The other is simply Allons-y on my right forearm. If you get it, you get it. If you don't, you arent as big of a nerd as I am. I want to fill the rest of my right arm with various references to Dr Who in due time, but finding the right pieces, and where to pit them, and what to use as fill has stumped me thus far.
I am also toying with the idea of part of my skin being torn away to reveal text, like newsprint, underneath. The script is a reference to a few books that have heavily impacted my life. The only thing holding me back is finding the proper artist to do it.

Awesome! (Right forearm makes it even better)
Next one up is "fantastic" on your ears, then "geronimo" on your...chin? Maybe not.

Definitely get someone good for that last one. I knew a guy who had that done (only revealing a scuba diving flag under his skin instead of text). It was a cool tattoo (and I generally don't like tattoos) but definitely not the kind of thing you'd want to trust to anyone but a really skilled artist. Otherwise I could see how it could look terrible, or just plain confusing - like someone had glued shreds if newspaper to you.
I have four right now, and they're all Canadian symbols - a maple leaf, an inukshuk, an inuit-style horned owl, and a beaver holding a sword from an old WWI recruiting poster. If/when I get more they'll follow the established pattern.

I have 2.
Went in with my brother 10 years ago and chose a celtic shield from the "examples" board. Don't really regret it, but will one day add to it and make it a shoulder sleeve or something.
I've been to Thailand a few times and got my name, in Thai, done on my foot.
Will get more one day but want to wait until I can spend a decent amount of coin on it to make it worthwhile.

That is exactly what is stopping me. I've seen a lot of work by a lot of artists, and nothing stacks up to my expectations.
Also (not directed at you Fly) is it the placement, or the subject, of my tattoo that offends you so? I had no idea a 3 inch long word in black lettering could stir such drama.

Resurrecting this thread a bit. I need some help, if there is anyone out there able and willing.
I have another child due in April, and want to get a corresponding tattoo. As the water dragon on my left shoulder is for my son, born in 2012 the year of the water dragon, I want to continue the trend. Only thing is, 2015 is kinda tame in terms of the zodiak... Its the year of the wood goat (sheep?) I can't really find anything that tickles my fancy, so I was wondering if someone out there could draw something up, or give me some ideas?

Hahahaha I had a thought. I'm going to go to an artist to see if (s)he can fix up my dragon to make it into a gyarados, and make the goat a Gogoat. Our third should hopefully be born in time for 2017 which is a fire rooster... Blaziken anyone? Yeah, I'm honestly considering Pokémon tattoos.

I can't wait to get a celtic design spanning my chest, and Chinese symbols just under my ear (I didn't do any research as to what they meant, I just picked some off the first website that turned up on Google). I plan to follow that up with a tattoo written in italics saying "PRIDE AND HONOR" down my right shin and "TAPOUT" on my left shin. The final piece will be tattooing two guns right above my groin area pointing towards my wang. I'm thinking Desert Eagles wrapped in roses with skulls woven into the barrel somehow.
In all honestly, I have a small tattoo on my left tricep and easily covered with a shirt. No more after that, I always believe tattoos should be subtle.
