Bouma will probably be the 4th line center and Stajan will be in the top 6. I don't think there is a spot for Horak as of now.
Cundari hopefully can beat out one of Butler or Russel. Also not sure about SOB on the 2nd pairing.
Any which way you slice it or try to jumble the lines, it comes out as a last place team.

They want Monahan to come in right away is my understanding and I think I read somewhere that Sean is indeed one of the most "NHL ready" picks of this draft class. I think he should be able to come in and slot where Horak currently is, Horak can push Stajan down and hopefully Stajan is shipped out no offense to him.
After that the wings look pretty good but Jackman needs to go and Bouma needs to take his place, after that I'd swap Gio/Wideman because Brodie and Wideman had some Chemistry earlier on this year but lost it, I think they could regain that with a fresh start and a faster/bigger/younger team. Would really love for us to sign Brunner though and deal Stempniak to a desperate team when the dust settles for a 2nd rounder, would really flesh out the line-up that much more IMO:
Flames:
Cammalleri - Backlund - D. Jones
Baertschi - Knight - Brunner
Glencross - Monahan - Galiardi
Bouma - Horak - McGrattan
Wideman- Brodie
Giordano - O'Brien
Butler - Russell
D. Smith
Ramo

I'm sorry but he darn sure is on this team. There is no good reason to give him top 9 minutes, why should we when he's not going to be here next year.

he is miles better than Horak and Knight is unproven. Stajan on the 2nd line.

Trying to track what has happened. Stajan has not been dealt. Stempniak has not been dealt. Hudler has not been dealt. Brunner hasn't been signed. Crosby has not been acquired.

I think something's gotta give. Cammalleri & Hudler just don't fit into this forward corps IMO. Even less so if Raymond's supposed deal happens...

I agree...although I don't want to see Hudler dealt...I liked his play last year...maybe they hope to have Cammy traded before the season starts? Although keeping him for the deadline would be better for us IMHO.

None of you guys have Mason Raymond in your lineup. Surely he is good enough to make the Flames top 6.

He made everyone that he played with better last year, and playing with him would be better for Baertschi's development than playing with Knight. I think Knight will make the team, but it will be on the 3rd or 4th line.
From Feaster's comments today, they expecting Breen and Bouma and possibly Cundari and Knight to make the team. I'm not sure how that works unless some other guys are on the way out, but that's what he said.

Good lineup based on the pieces we currently have. Good balance throughout the lineup and you have the right players in the right spots. Knight has to start on the 4th line to learn the NHL game. He may even start in Abby and Reinhart start on the big club. I don't see why Reinhart isn't in these lineups as he was the biggest breath of fresh air this squad had in the final month of the season. He's ready to stick full time. At whose expense? I don't know. But he should be there.
