I think it was the Thor's Angels episode where he explicitly mentions he is treating the series as more of an audio book. Considering the quality of his work (not to mention the price) I don't mind the wait. I definitely anticipate each new episode though. He also has the common sense series which he does much more frequently. They're really good too if your interested in current events.

For anyone interested he had a deal on his website where you can buy each and every episode for something like $50. I didn't even hesitate.

If you're a history buff you should listen to these podcasts.

Mike Duncan (bio)
Revolutions So far English, French and American Revolution
History of Rome (179 Episodes Complete)

Chris Stewart
History of China (so far 71 episodes and he's only in the year 500 AD)

I'm waiting for the Mongol section which will be told in the Chinese point of view probably.

I'm about 80% into The History or Rome, 34 episodes left, I got really addicted. I think I've done about 60 hours in 2 weeks.

I was planing on doing The History of Byzantium after, to keep moving on the same timeline.
I do plan on getting around to revolution some day, I've enjoyed Mike Duncans work.

Also leading up to the election I've been listening to The Strategists & Canadaland

The Hockey PDOcast with Dimitri Filipovic and Travis Yost has been in my rotation regularly the last few weeks. Couple shows a week. Interesting hockey talk unless you are fundamentally opposed to viewing hockey through the lens of advanced stats.

Newish sports podcast Pardon My Take

http://www.podcastone.com/pardon-my-...lEpisodes=true

The recent Joe Buck interview is hilarious. They had Dumoulin and Bonino on to talk about winning the cup and they give Kessell a call. It's hilarious.

Criminal, Flash Forward, and the recent Scientology expose done by Oh No Ross and Carrie are some of the good podcasts I've been listening to lately.

Puck Soup from Nerdist has been pretty entertaining. Dave Lozo and Greg Wyshynski host it. It's a mix of sports and pop culture and it's usually a longer, hour plus podcast.

Another D&D podcast:

These guys have all kinds of other shows as well. The latest episode was so killer though (eleventh hour, chapter two)

I just wish I could find more podcasts that aren't 30 minutes of content padded out with 110 minutes of pointless yapping. People know they can edit these things, right? Or do most listeners genuinely enjoy the white-noise burble of two or three people making remarks and quips about whatever springs to mind?

For the crime enthusiasts out there, the first season of Detective was an excellent listen. Kenda's voice is perfect for radio and he paints a nice picture with his verbiage and storytelling. The second season hasn't been as gripping but it is early. Episodes range from 10 - 25 mins long with no useless banter. Straight to the point.

Recently downloaded Welcome to Night Vale. Strange. Very strange and yet oddly entertaining. It's like a surreal radio broadcast written in a satirical style like The Onion.

One of the funniest stand ups and people alive, such a fan of Mcdonald and his podcast. Listened to some of the episodes multiple times.

After a long hiatus, Canadian sports anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole are back in the Country! They join Randy and Jason for discussions on Richard Linklater’s “Everybody Wants Some!!,” Dan Patrick at the Olympics, and how seemingly incidental lies can ruin a career. Later, they try to cast Toronto mayor Rob Ford for a TV movie and Jay and Dan share stories of interviews that went horribly wrong. Quick Hits include Simon Coleman’s misplaced pool balls and Mary Carillo’s badminton rant, and finally, Christoph Waltz drops by to talk about his recent Samsung commerical.

Things I've been listening to lately have almost all been political: Slate's Trumpcast, Keeping it 1600, FiveThirtyEight, and one I'm really enjoying, Vox's Into the Weeds. Really drills down into the bits and pieces of politics. There was a great one on what Hillary's transition team signals for a Hillary administration.

Also, I'm not the biggest fan of his podcast, but Sam Harris did one recently with a black Social Economist on Black Lives Matter/Minority issues that was really very good.

Pardon My Take is currently my favourite podcast by far, I also enjoy The Fantasy Footballers (for fantasy football) and The Steve Dangle Podcast even though it is very Leafs-centric
