Harrison killing Angela would just be a rehash of the whole Doakes death scene. Dexter can't kill the person himself, but will also go to jail for life if that person doesn't die, so his son does the job for him without permission.
I'm thinking they kill Dexter off. The showrunner promised that the finale would break the internet, so I can't see what else could do that.
My crazy/out of left field prediction (since I still don't think any of these fit the internet-breaking mould):
Harrison is really the son of Trinity. You'll recall he was emotionally affected by the podcast about Trinity, and he uses the same weapon as Arthur, so those line up. He was researching Dex just like he said. He found Hannah and killed her already, said it was cancer. He was only waiting to get some kind of confirmation that Dexter is the guy that murdered his dad by getting close to him, so he played into the gaining his trust thing by enabling his decisions with the "you've saved thousands of people" remarks. Last episode he got a confession/confirmation from Dexter that he killed Arthur.
Now he's going to wait for his moment and use his gun from Dexter to shoot him as was foreshadowed last episode when he showed off his great shot and Dexter remarked on it. You see in the promo a scene where Dexter is running from something in the forest. Will be from Harrison. New Blood will end how it started with a hunt in the forest near his cabin. Angela will be taken out along the way by one of the two of them to preserve their freedom. We'll think they are home free before Harrison drops the truth bomb on him.
It will turn out that Logan is also working with Kurt like Elrick was. Molly would've avoided Kurt after the secluded cabin thing, so it makes sense that someone else lured her for her to end up in Kurt's collection. Molly broke up with Logan so he would have motive to get back at her. He will die as well.
I know its like 95% certain Harrison is actually Harrison but I'd wager on at least half of the above being true if the ending is of the internet breaking variety like they said. Like even if there isn't a twist with Harrison's identity, he may turn on Dexter after he kills Logan & Angela to buy their freedom. He decides his dad has gone too far. Maybe Dexter kills Audrey cause she is a witness and that's when Harrison snaps.
I think there's also a chance they go with an alternate ending to keep the show going.
The finale is on Showtime app as of midnight so watch for spoilers. I just finished watching.
Spoiler!
What an amazing finale and last few episodes. Don't read further if you don't want to spoil this episode.
Spoiler!
I am sad there won't be more Dexter, but this season is such a satisfying conclusion after such a blah ending to the original run. I don't know how that doesn't #### up Harrison more. I don't know that there has been a better finale to any show I've watched. I don't care what any flaws people point out, that was kind of perfect in my books.

I thought it was about as good an ending as you could get, given the way things are setup. Definitely better than the original ending floating into a hurricane, then ending up as a lumberjack.
Man... the feels. As a long time fan you didn't want to see it go this way, but you also knew it had to end like this.
I don't think it's a blow up the internet ending, but it was a solid conclusion that stuck the landing.
Clyde got the ending he wanted originally, but just in a slightly different manner since they didn't have the episodes to do the whole death row scenario.
Harrison's response to Dexter at the end was on point. Exactly what you'd expect from a kid who still largely has his innocence intact and has some inherent morality, which means Hannah did a pretty good job raising him despite being a murderer herself.
I guess the way they went was that Dexter assumed Harrison's darkness was just like his and wanted the company of his son in his darkness. To be accepted as a monster and not alone. But the nature of that was selfish, and mostly wishful thinking on Dexter's part, rather than evaluating the situation from the mind of a normal father.
I sided with Dexter in episode 9... I guess I too assumed Harrison was doomed just like his dad and the vigilante thing was an answer (I also wanted to see the show go on). But I also forgot about him being just a kid, and despite doing some heinous things, he hasn't chopped up anybody yet.
To be fair, Harrison could still have the same darkness that hasn't manifested yet in the same way, but he's not there yet. He can still possibly be saved at this stage, and Dexter didn't really try. He thought he was protecting him, but he was luring him down the same path as him, and forgot how what he was doing was still wrong after convincing himself otherwise for so long.
I like how it all hit Dexter and he gained clarity in his final moments. That was also true to the character because he's always been very self aware in his inner monologues and always seeking to try to understand other, normal people and where they are coming from.
I'm content with how true they were to the characters with this ending. Even just Angela outside, building up the courage to do what she had to do next.. it was well executed. It really is the bow on the whole thing that the show needed and deserved the first time around.
Dexter revisiting the faces of his victims was also fitting. But seeing the faces of the innocents that died to keep him free, culminating with Deb... I found myself siding with Angela, as much as I'm not her biggest fan. He had to be stopped there, even though part of you wants his story to keep going.
The only unbelievable part was Batista buying into Angela's theories immediately after realizing Dexter was still alive. I don't believe it. He would still be confused and trying to connect the dots at that point, and probably not ready to throw his old files at Dexter. Given how Angel protected him in the original run, why would he suddenly change his tune now?
Maybe he reflected and re-evaluated LaGuerta's theories in the years since (as she was always important to him) but had let it go since he thought Dexter was gone. But we didn't see that development with him, so it was a bit of a leap with how it was executed. But pretty minor and inconsequential to the overall ending.
I can see exactly why Michael Hall was sold on the pitch for this.

That ending was an ending written by people that had become so disconnected from the show's original premise after tacking on so many new things in that season and were looking for any creative fiction they could pull out of a hat just to bring the show to an end.
It felt like what you'd see on a bad soap opera.
Spoiler!
This connected back to the premise of the show and fit the characters, their perspectives, and their motivations. It felt like the right ending, arguably the inevitable ending. And it was well acted.
I think now many people can think of Dexter in a different light. Mission accomplished.

That was as good an ending as anyone could have hoped for, and these last two episodes were outstanding. Right up there with the first 4 seasons IMO. I really enjoyed this new season as whole, and for me it completely redeemed the series after the botched ending of S8.
Spoiler!
Dexter dying was really the perfect end for the character. I loved Harrison saying the line from the very first episode of season 1: "open your eyes and look at what you've done", followed by Dex seeing flashes of all the innocent people who died as a result of his actions. Such a great moment for the character and the series.
I suppose we can assume that they now have enough evidence between Angela and Batista to tie Dex to the Bay Harbor Butcher killings. Angela was pretty dead-on with her theory and seemed to have what she needed to back most of it up. By the episode's end I'm guessing that she probably put together the fact that Dex killed Kurt as well, which would certainly fit the same vigilante pattern of the Bay Harbor murders.
So I guess that means we're not getting a 2nd season. Unless they do a series revolving around Harrison trying to control his own dark passenger.

interviews with Clyde today basically say he wants to do a Harrison show if showtime wants it.

Huh looks like I was right that Dex should have done more research before exposing the truth to Harrison. I didn’t expect that to actually happen though. The way they played Harrison most of the season, I figured he’d go full Dexter, not turn on him.
Better than season 8 but I don’t see how they continue with Harrison. I don’t find him to be an interesting character and no one can match Michael C Hall.
Ultimately a reasonably satisfying ending but lacked the quality of peak Dexter. Felt like it needed more polishing. Seemed underdeveloped. They had some good pieces but never quite put it all together.

Dexter goes balls crazy and decides to panic-kill Logan and from that point on it was basically just bull#### ass-pull after ass-pull for the next 10-15 min to get to that ending.

Batista was on his way up from Miami and Dexter knew he was in a corner. Like the animal he is, he has always violated the code to save himself. Compound that with his son I don't think it was the stretch you saw it as. At least IMO.
As for the ending, I thought it worked very well. Harrison clearly did not get the relief from killing that Dexter had. His disgust and confusion as the blood trickled towards him in Kurt's hatch, combined with him constantly reassuring himself that it was saving lives, made the turn very believable.
The pain of the original final two seasons almost seems worth it to see Deb's image at the end of Dexter's realization. Almost.
Excellent finale.

Yes! Thanks for summing it up in a way that I couldn't.

I agree too. He tried to get out without killing Logan but put himself in a kill or be killed solution. And you're right Harrison added to his self preservation instincts. I really bought into the Harrison making him realize he wasn't the good guy he thought he was. I thought that part was pretty well done
My prediction was pretty close. It seems like a good way to close the Dexter book. A bit of redemption for the show.
It felt like the first two episodes of this season were a waste and could have been used more effectively to allow the last few could have had some more time for development.
I agree the first two episodes could've had more meat on their bones. It was so painfully obvious where it was going that it made the development of it boring to sit through.
I think the Matt storyline could've been executed a little more convincingly and a little less conveniently. Plus his character was a total caricature of the careless, entitled rich kid, which made him no more than a plot tool to set Dex back on his old path.
Maybe they use the billionaire subplot instead to flesh out Molly and Angela's characters a bit more. I feel like those two were a little undercooked and I feel like they also didn't bond enough to buy into Angela's being affected by her fate as much as she was. Even Dexter and Angela's relationship could've been fleshed out a little more. It didn't even seem like they were a couple after the first episode.
Put more substance into the first two-three episodes like they did so well in the last few and this season is a massive home run IMO.
Pacing seemed a little weird in the back half of the finale... for me it was a solid season let down by a subpar finale which had a really good concept but average execution. Overall the return was a win and eps 5-9 were peak Dexter.
Thought it was a great finale. It really fixed the overall stain the series had with how bad the previous finale was IMO.
I thought the whole last few seasons were terrible. The finale itself wasn't particularly worse than than the show was at that point.

There's been a few comments like that now. It worked for me. He was circling down the drain quickly and kept trying more and more desperate actions to get out of it that kept making things worse until he realized it. The fast pace was kind of the point.
