Hanowski is just slow and not good enough so I was expecting he'll be let go sometime soon. Acolaste is just buried in the AHL. I was hoping to see John Ramage qualified one more time. I thought he is starting to pick up his game but I guess they have a few Ds who just graduated from CHL that are ready to play in the AHL.

Hamilton extension is 6 yrs and close to $34.5 mil total. Flames pushed for 8 yrs and Hamilton wanted 5. Good compromise.

I doubt he's asking for that much, but I've seen people project his next contract at 1.25M-1.5M and that to me is wishful thinking.
Something like 2-2.5M for 3-4 years would be my guess.
I wonder if Bouma would be interested in a 1-year contract to prove that his scoring has indeed permanently improved?

I believe Bouma has 2 more RFA years before he reaches UFA status. I think we see a 3-4 year deal worth very close to $2 million per year.

Surprised no RFA deals announced yet. A few must have accepted QOs. When is the deadline to accept QO?

The deadline to accept the QO is 5:00pm ET on July 15 (this coming Wednesday).
Few, if any, players just accept their QO because it's the minimum a team has to offer to keep the player's rights. Most players want something more than the bare minimum. Whether it's a one-way contract, a higher AHL salary, or a multiyear deal, most players aren't going to take the first offer they receive.

I understand that for players in the NHL, but some of the lower tier guys have to be happy to get a QO. Many others sometimes sign for below their QO just for a shot at a call up.
Agostino, Van babrant and Wolfe for example.

When Stajan and Backlund go down with their seasonal injuries, I bet Arnold comes up and impresses.
