Nice. I'm sure he'll do well.
Team USA is going to be interesting to watch in a few years...
Tkachuk and Gaudreau seem like they'll be mainstays, and then there's the chance Parsons may be end up being there.
....Adam Fox, potentially?

I guess this means he didn't play terribly because he was injured.

Hopefully this will also boost his confidence going into next season.

Wasn't one of the excuses for his poor play that he'd played too much hockey last year? I had selfishly hoped he'd take some time off and come back to the Flames recharged.

He was flying at the world cup this year. It didn't translate unfortunately.

Well, we are all looking for excuses as to why he didn't have the season we were hoping for. But sometimes players just have an off year. I don't think an extra two weeks in a fairly meaningful tournament will impact his ability to be better net season; I am still counting on it.

Hopefully he ends this tournament on a high note; did not like the way he played in the playoffs. Needs to come in fresh and re-energized next season. At least we know there won't be an ongoing contract negotiation this summer.

I'm hoping there's the potential that none of those players will have the opportunity to play at the World Championships for the foreseeable future...

He will definitely have a good tournament. Playing on a bigger ice surface with less physicality will allow him to shine.

I think there is far too much expectation for Johnny. People expect him to come up with these spectacular news reel plays once a night. In spite of a few giveaways and defensive gaffs, here and there, I see him continually making passes that no other player seems to be able to make.
I wear his sweater with pride, and so do a great many others. If one evaluates a player on what he does with what he was given, Johnny rises among the best in hockey in my mind.

World Cup is generally on larger ice no? Should help him build some confidence back up. He wasn't himself this playoffs, hope to see him bounce back next season.
Watching him cough the puck up with 2 minutes left, the net empty and the entire season on the line because he heard foot steps was very, very hard to take.

The expectations are there because of his big salary. He did not live up to it this year.

I have to shake my head when a post like this generates multiple thanks. The guy had a down year. Happens to even the best. He's the most exciting player this organization has seen since Iginla, should we run him out of town because he only got 60 points? He's one of the smallest players in the league that plays in a line with one of the streakiest centers in the league and a bunch of RW's that most fans outside of Calgary couldn't pick out of a police lineup.
