HBO has announced that Damon Lindelof's surreal drama The Leftovers has been renewed for a third and final season. The show, which is based on Tom Perrotta's novel of the same name, finished its critically-lauded second season on December 6th. The whole season took place in a Texas town untouched by the Rapture, the "sudden departure" that rocked the show's world, and the drastic change in scenery — the first season took place in New York — paid palpable dividends in terms of audience response.

I had to watch the premiere twice last night it was so good, i love this show and its characters. Is Lilly's absence from last night show solely related to this season or am I forgetting something from season two?
This being the final season of the series i really believe its going to be incredible, today i ordered season 2 off Amazon.
Wow, that was a real roller coaster of an episode. From the Perfect Strangers theme over the opening credits, to Cousin Larry's appearance, then WU-TANG!
Between this and Fargo, it appears the theme of Spring 2017 on TV is going to be: Electronic devices ignore Carrie Coon.

What a weird episode. I liked it but man, you just need to buckle up and go along for the ride with this show. The Book of Kevin is a great plot device based on the flash forwards that we've seen. Also, Nora is a boss. Best character on the show at the moment.
We loved that episode last night. Kevin Garvey Sr. is very committed to saving the world one song at a time and Scott Glen is so good in that role. Some great imagery and symbolism in this one. Nice change of pace.
I just hope it pays off the viewer at the end of the series.

This show is putting out some of the best TV I have seen in years.
I feel like no one is giving this show a chance and it is brilliant. Season 1 was not amazing (but not bad by any stretch) but Season 2 was some of the best TV of last year. Season 3 may surpass that.
