A little constructive criticism: it might just be me, but I find crooked horizons and distortion to take away quite a bit from this sort of image where the reflection lines should be vertical. Fortunately, horizon is usually easy to fix (complex distortions can be tougher).

Middle looks good. Still got a bit of pincushion that's got the edges (left side more obviously) on a slant.

Thanks! I took all these pictures at Big Hill Springs Provincial Park, which really is not that far from the city. Anyone looking for great fall pictures I would highly recommend checking this area out!

Oh sure. We're parasites when we come in to Calgary, but by all means, come on out of Calgary to take pictures.

Haven't really had much time for photography lately, but thought I'd post some of the pictures I took in Rwanda this past summer

Somewhere between Kibuye and Kigali

Looks like there won't be any photos from me for a while. My shutter broke...sad day. But these last couple pages have been awesome, so I'll just be jealous of all of you.

Scrambled Mist Mountain yesterday. Highest Peak in K-Country south of Highwood Pass.
10,300 ft (3130m). My first foray above 10,000 ft. A lot of work for a mere hiker, like me, but worth the effort even though it was cloudy most of the day. If not for the views... finding 2 hot spring pools on the way down, at approx 2300m elevation and soaking them up for nearly 2 hours wasn't a bad deal either.

Summit Ridge & False Summit (true summit is actually beyond that high point)

Summit Memorial for a Scramber killed by lightening in 1989

Views southeast from the Summit

Views north from the Summit

Hot Springs Overflow Stream (Algae colour caused by the mix of thermophile organisms, photosynthetic pigments and sulfur... I think)

Spectacular. I have to do that Mountain next summer. I'm guessing the snow cover was already getting a little sketchy this time of year? Thinking that it wouldn't be safe to hike it thanksgiving weekend when I'm back in Calgary?

Should be fine. We were up extremely early (got to the trail head at 7:30am). It looks worse than it was... I think most of that snow was from the system that we got Tuesday night. By mid-afternoon, the sun would have melted off much of the snow. If it wasn't too sketchy for me, you can trust it isn't too sketchy for you, so long as you are in shape to complete it.

Just make sure you do it early enough to allow time at the hot springs. If you miss those on your way down, you've missed the whole experience of rewarding yourself with something deluxe. It's easy to spot from the Unnamed Pass on your way up the mountain. Just before you start making your way across into the rocky alpine zone. Stop... look to the right on the far side of the melt water stream and you'll notice two bootbeaten path's going in the wrong direction of the summit route. Follow that line across and you'll see a big falling patch of yellow and orange that looks out of place. Hot springs are at the top of that. Make note of it's location and make sure you go there on the way back.

Do it.

EDIT: Bring bear spray (duh, who doesn't). We came up on a female grizzly in the meadow before the Unnamed Pass... she was 300m away, but close enough to look at us. We yelled out and she took off, but there was scat on the trail itself, so they're around.
