wranglers Brett Palin named to AHL All Star team

Good for him. I know you QC guys love him. Nice to see him get some recognition. Makes me really wonder where this guy fits in with the flames. Can't recall Sutter ever mentioning him as a guy that could play with the flames.

Very, very deserving for Palin. I don't see his style of game being a big part of the All-Star game, though.

Surprised that Lundmark didn't get chosen.

gotta like his chances of at least getting a cup of coffee one day

last training camp, Sutter described Palin as a leader on the QC squad despite his youth; if nothing else the GM has taken notice

Must say this is surprising, even for a defensive god such as Brett Palin!

A relatively-unheralded Flames blueliner being named to the AHL all-star game? Let's hope Palin can develop the way Mark Giordano has.

I just noticed that Palin has already set a career high for points in a season(a pro season that is), and he's only played in 33 games.

stay-at-home for sure. i am hesitant to say physical as he isn't going to run over everyone on the ice, but he is definitely above average in that area.

he is a smart player who knows where to be. he battles well along the wall and in front of the net. he has gotten on the score sheet a lot more this year which i think helped him get the all-star nod.

he's the guy you want out there in the last minute when trying to protect a 1 goal lead. great poise and maturity on the ice. great on the PK.

and i know +/- can be an overrated and overused statistic. but both last year and this year he somehow ends up much better than most of the team.

I've noticed more and more this season that he holds his position well. Not afraid to shoot or drop the gloves when necessary.....and hits like a freight train!

Palin is extremely deserving of this honor....way to go, Brett!
