Default Canada Post Money Orders, do they expire?

I've got a money order from Canada Post that's from July last year, should I still be able to cash it?

I checked their website and couldn't find anything.

^I'm not sure about Canada Post specifically, but I had one from another institution and the payee never cashed it after about 2.5 years and the institution I got it from called me to tell me it hadn't been cashed yet, and to see if I wanted it either refunded or for me to contact the payee to notify them. They said the payee could still cash it after that long.

Not sure if that helps or not.

My wife works at the post office and doesn't know off the top of her head but says there should be an 800 number on the back that you can call to ask.

They do not expire from what I understand.

This is correct. Bank Drafts do not expire.

Yeah. It makes sense because a money order represents money that was withdrawn from someone's account. It can't expire because it would be like money just disappearing.

You should wait another year or two, I wouldn't be too sure the cops still don't have the banks looking out for it.

Lol, I was going through the huge pile of papers on my desk trying to get tax stuff done today and I found this envelope.. inside is the money order for something I sold to a CP member last year.

The cool thing is it's like finding $150 that you left in your spring jacket the first time you put it on from over the winter. You know it really isn't "found" money, but it sure feels like it!
