Edit: Reading the piece that DeluxeMoustache shared, both the author and some comments suggest that Gulutzan was in a rough situation as a rookie coach with the lockout and roster turnover.
I vaguely remember Hartley having a similar problem as well with being a new coach who could not make an impact in his first season as Flames coach. Hartley did however instill an identity in this team by the 2nd half of the 2nd season as head coach though judging by this board, fans have higher immediate expectations of Gulutzan out of the gate.

So far, this looks like Butter hockey.
We're forcing talented players into playing an untalented system. The focus is on dumping it in, slowing down the pace of the game, and taking as many poor quality shots on net as possible. The lack of speed in the transition game is unforgiveable considering it was one of our very few strengths the last few years.
We were told we'd get fast paced, entertaining, puck possession based hockey. What we've got is slow, predictable, untalented rubbish on ice. These first five games have been the worst Flames Hockey I've seen in 4 years.

I have not been impressed so far. Johnny looks rusty which is to be expected. Monahan too with injury. Elliott not looking very sharp. Brodie has looked brutal. Hamilton not much better. Overall I think we are in for a long year again. Gotta keep building.

What is the worst 10 game start a head coach has had?
I think Gulutzan has great odds at starting 1-8-1.

I still think Versteeg was a great pick up. I think his signing was tainted to most fans because he didn't click right away (signed the day before season opener) and the team itself sucked.
But I bet if we turn this season around and play well we'll see him on the top line again and he'll probably look really good there.

I'm certainly not an amazing strategist, but I hate watching the passive box on the PK. Whether its the right personnel out there or not, having them sit back and let the other team pass the puck around to set-up the inevitable one-timer is just stupid. Maybe that's the system, and maybe it worked once upon a time, but its aggravating to sit and watch.

Looks like he took the worst parts of Gibert's system and combined then with the worst part of B Sutter's system and came up with the Gully Super Suck system.

It's on the GM. He made the coaching change. He made the selection of the new regime. Brought in his players.
The GM let last season be lost before the end of November by refusing to address the 3 goalie monster. He got a free pass from the media and especially CP.
This season will be lost by Halloween. What will Treliving do to shake this up?

What a great effin system by Gluttony.
Have the puck in offensive zone:
No one help the puck carrier or try to get open. Dman jumps in for no reason and no one cover his spot.
Opposition has the puck in your offensive zone:
Everyone crash the net, leaving the point and wingers free to pass anywhere they like and get deflections.
PP:
Let's keep trying the same thing even though the other team has figured out not to let you carry it in because why the hell not? To quote Gluttony "you're doing the same ****ing thing in games"
So freakin frustrating to watch this team. From the body language seems like the players have given up already.

At this stage the heat is all in Treliving IMO. He made the coach hire, he got the goalies, and outside of Stajan and Wideman he either acquired or re-signed every player on the roster. Another top 10 pick falls solely on him

Can the organization admit it made a mistake and make a change before its too late to salvage the season?
This coaching staff is clearly not going to work. There has been zero indication that it will, regardless of how early it is.

The players are clearly not responding in a positive way to Gulutzan and the other additional staff Treliving hired this year.
It broke my heart to see Gio taking all the blame for this loss. He is a class guy.
For the good of the future of these young players. The Flames unfortunately must continue to lose so there is no choice but to Fire Gulutzan and I hope Treliving says I made a mistake and owns up to this horrible horrible hire he has made.

I think it's surpassed by the goals against through 6 games.
We're going back to the early 1980s since it's been that bad....
wait a second ... early 80s.... a Trudeau screwing with the oil industry.... Flames let in a lot of goals ..... is history repeating itself????

If I could post a graphic picture of a giant human turd without getting sin-binned, I would. That would pretty much sum up my thoughts on GG's 'system'.
