Also, Carson Branstine and partner Marta Kostyuk are in the girls doubles semi-finals after their win this morning.

Nope, Borg did it in 1976. Hasn't been done since.

Yes well it's not because I wanted Roger there, just that a Berdych-Cilic final is even less compelling than Nishikori-Cilic. It's funny how this year worked, the second I said I didn't care anymore about Roger winning, just that I wanted him to keep playing, he of course has his biggest winning season in some time. I think we have two very compelling finals, both to me are coinflips, and both as it should be on grass will come down to who serves better and who can find the aggression needed.

I hope he never plays on clay again and wins another 5-6 slams!

Garbine digging deep to steal that set, saving two set points, breaking Venus and then serving it out. Good match so far.

Wow from 2 set points to losing 8 games in a row.

And then the second set started and Venus turned into Genie...

^^ 9 games in a row actually. For Garbine it certainly seemed like after making the final in 2015 and winning Roland Garros in 2016 that she was destined to be the next big star, but then she went through a massive lull between that win and the start of the grass season. But as we can see when she is focused and dialed in she is a handful for everyone else.

Cilic in tears on the last changeover. Weird to be hoping it's an injury more than just being overwhelmed by the moment.

Well, that changeover was pretty tough to watch - I hope Cilic is okay (at least the match is continuing).

Looks like the doctor and trainer are out there again for Marin at the end of this second set.

Thanks for all the closeups of the nasty looking blister on his foot.

Winning the title while serving with new balls, just like Australia. Winning number 19 at SW19. Winning number eight while only losing eight games. Eighth ace of the match too to win it. Roger sure had some symmetry on this one.

14 straight wins without dropping a set for Roger. He's serving like he did in 14-15, but the ground game is so much more lethal. Be interesting to see how he plans his run up to New York, Cincinnati seems a given, but Montreal might be skipped. Either way if he keeps serving like he has he's going to be tough to beat. I would also imagine his days of playing clay are now over given how this year has played out. No point wasting the energy and effort for unlikely wins.

He could end the year back at #1 while skipping the entire clay court season
