Can't remember where I saw it (Sportsnet or the Athletic) but they had a breakdown of the core 4 shots - and in the playoffs, Marner is shooting from way more out than he does in the regular season, and that's not just this playoffs, I think it was averaged.

But the mix of that top end talent is such that they don’t get gritty at all. They know they’re finesse players and they will not do any physical plug work even if it’s the playoffs. Marchand and Pasternak will grind it out against the boards. As your top players you need guys to do that in the playoffs. Marner avoids it, Matthews prefers just using his stick and playing keepaway but won’t come in barrelling, and Nylander is out (and he does do that when needed). So nobody on the elite side is filling that role when you need all to do it. Tavares has been good in that regard as well as Knies. Their defence truly hasn’t let them down. It’s just their elite guys sticking to their comfort zone which to me is the problem.
Matthews has been fine in terms of physicality, but yeah Marner and Tavares are definitely not gritty.

Marner led the team in Points in the playoffs last year.

Also sounds like Nylander will be in tomorrow. Big boost for the Leafs.

So he's apparently suffering from massive migraines that come and go but put him down when they hit, seemingly randomly.

Brodie has had a very solid year for Toronto - second in TOI for defensemen, 26 points, +17. Skating is as rock solid as it ever was.

I’d have him back in a heartbeat, and they do need to add another veteran D.

And Ryan Reaves is playing because...................?

Don't get me wrong, I want the Bruins to win, just find it such a strange choice. He's not good at all.

Yeah feels like the Leafs are beating themselves. Reaves is so bad. Bruins love him on the ice.

TJ Brodie has had a terrible year, which is why he wasn't playing in the first 3 games.

Marchande is a winner and an amazing captain. What I would give for somebody with his ####ing sandpaper to be on the Jets

His name is Adam Lowry. Don’t give up just because a series is 2-1

Ya I wrote my post really specifically as not to say I wanted him as captain and not Adam Lowry. I just said I wanted him on the Jets. Not captaining the Jets. I love lurch. You don't have to try and convince me.

Debrusk is a Leafs killer. They should be thrilled he wasn't dealt during the season.

Panel is lambasting the Leafs. Have they ever been this hard on the Oilers?
