Ugh. Afternoon games... who needs 'em?

Glad Ortio's back in. He's started to look like the Ortio of last season.

Two teams whose colours are black, white and red with big "A"'s on their jerseys. This could start blurring together here.

Flames win the opening faceoff.

Albany clears the puck out of play almost off the faceoff so Flames to the PP!

Gillies vs Janssen.

Heavyweight battles at center ice.

Gillies just throwing lefts. Gillies taking huge shots at him, switches hands. Going for the body. Jansen's helmet off. Gillies going for the body. Jansen gets a good shot in and gets his right free. Still going. Gillies with a huge right, he's going over the head. Jansen get's a good left. Gillies going left now and Jansen goes down.

Now THAT was a fight. That was a good 2 minute fights.

Guys now congratulating each other on the fight.

Tousignant vs Zajac

Tousignant down early, but he gets back up. Lost his helmet. Zajac definitely getting the better of Tousignant for this one. Tousignant down again, but gets back up and the refs come in to break them up.

Trying to figure out the lines here but with 2 PP and now the 2 fights, I'm not fully sure whose actually on a line with each other and whose filling in.

D Pairings are:

Ramage-Sieloff
Culkin-Potter
Wotherspoon-Yonkman

I think these are the Forward lines:

Agostino-Arnold-Poirier
Hanowski-Reinhart-Elson
Hathaway-Tousignant-Setoguchi
Gillies-Vause-Reid

Ortio having to make far too many saves during the 1st period. Albany getting a bunch of shots on net and getting set up in the Flames zone.

Flames going to the PK but it's a delayed call. Devils pull the goalie and play goes on for a good 90 seconds before Flames get control.

Sieloff is the one in the box.

Reinhart breaks a 9 game goal-less drought. It was a damn near impossible goal too. Goalie was down and covering the net and he just roofs it in the tiny spot still open.

Huska Interview:

Late Period Goals - Bad goal to give up last night at the wrong time. That was the covering on a bad night for them. The forwards played poorly. Need to play a smart, hard brand of hockey. Keep shifts short to stay fresh.

Van Brabant - Little strange they let him play last night and then suspend him today. Bryce has been playing well and a bigger body moving feet. He can shoot puck with accuracy and he will be missed in the game today.

Flukey Goals - Flames didn't play the proper way to get the bounces. The process wasn't played correctly. Defence played solid, forwards did not play as expected. Fowards weren't willing to get nose dirty in the play, didn't get bounces.

Shots from Point - Defence need to do a better job of having confidence to get shots through. They need to get better with a quick release from the point. They are too careful about getting shots blocked and trying to place it. They need just to let shots go.

Seiloff - Patrick had been out for a few and came back and played well. He did a good job of joining into the rush. Doesn't have to be super offensive skill but he showed smarts knowing when to get up with them and he was rewarded with a goal.

Small Crowd in Albany - Doesn't mind the small crowd. Wants to be competitive if it's 1000 people or 5000 people.
