Well, I ended up NOT buying, as the waitress split the bills, and I was insufficiently sober to remember I was going to grab that, so my apologies to Octothorp and Firefly! Next time I'll front the tab, though - I promise!
I was a bit late, so we had to sit at the counter like peasants until Firefly showed up at 7:30 and someone vacated a table. By then Octothorp and I had discussed the book at length, and agreed (mostly) on what it was all about and where Delillo was going with it; so the rest of the night we watched some of the game and got drunked up - well, those of us that didn't have to drive, anyway. So it was a success in the sense of everybody enjoyed themselves (I think), but obviously we were hoping for more than three people. (Although at least we had Quality, if not Quantity!).
Still, ya gotta start somewhere, so we'll move forward with another meeting and another book, and hopefully we can get a few more people every time until it gathers some momentum.
