Wideman's been solid up to about maybe like 4-5 games ago, at which point he hit a wall. Needs to be relegated to bottom pairing.

He can go back in, just make sure it's on the wing this time!

I would love this lineup so much:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie
Johansson-Kuznetsov-Williams
Connolly-Eller-Burakovsky
Winnik-Beagle-Wilson

Alzner-Niskanen
Orpik-Orlov
Chorney-Schmidt

Holtby
Grubauer

The comeback means nothing when your a team that aspires to a playoff game, have a game against an opponent changing you that's missing two of its major pieces, and instead of stomping on their throats until their head falls off, you come out like its a Sunday Beer scrimmage, and then with three minutes left turn it on.

This team really needs to find a better fight level and a better level of resolve then they're showing. As it stands we could be 8 points behind the Oilers by Saturday, and if we are, you can bet they're going to try to stomp out guts out and put the Flames away.

I'm really disappointment with the effort level tonight. I'm left wanting a lot more.

The fact they showed up for five minutes doesn't excuse the pathetic effort for the first 55 minutes. Sure hope the Oilers don't sweep the season series but it isn't looking good. Guess it was bound to happen some year.

You have to give it to Gulutzan. He's sticking to his guns on this one sink or swim. He's simply going to keep Brodie on the left side regardless of the results. He's definitely a different cat and I assume that's how he sold himself in the interview process. Losses to the Canucks, Jets, Devils, Oilers, Preds all in the last few weeks and today he all of a sudden realized they are lacking urgency? I'm sorry but I just don't have a lot of faith in this guy.

Basically this.

Flames once again show they won't miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

If they miss, the first games I'm looking back and pointing to are this, the Devils game, and the Winnipeg game. Good, not even great 60 minute efforts, would've probably gotten them points in all three.

Their "backup goalie" was by far the better goalie this game

Seriously though...Kulak and a third for Komarov? Why on earth would the Leafs even consider this?

A first fir Hayes? The Rangers would be lucky to draft a player like Hayes with the 15-20th pick.

That looked like the same low compete team that started the year and had me questioning GG's coaching. And here they are again playing several low compete games, generally content to slowly lose while not playing very hard.

It'd be nice to hear GG rip the teams compete a bit, but motivation doesn't really seem like his thing.

Time to let Elliott run with it for awhile. Clearly the Chad is playing too much and could use a few games watching from the bench.

I would be shocked if he doesn't get Edmonton on Saturday...his chance to make a run

The bottom line to me is that this team is full of players making multiple millions of dollars a year. If they need a coach to get a consistent effort out of them as a team, then I'm looking at the leaders on the team and the individual players.

Pull up your big boy pants and play like you give a crap. If you can't then ask for a trade. Pro Hockey isn't like the movie Rudy where the coach has to give a heart felt motivational speech every game and every period.

If the idea of putting a opponent chasing you a way and catching up to the team in front of you as a group isn't enough. If as a group you come out and don't battle hard then, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe the KHL is the league for you.

53 minutes of junk hockey isn't changed by OMG we look bad lets put in a effort so the coach doesn't yell at us.

If we weren't playing the Oilers on Saturday, my motivational speech would be a bus ride to banff, grab these toilet brushes and start scrubbing porta potties.

You still didn't make a bad decision.80% of that period was awful, and the outcome was never really in doubt.

After taking the kids to a game where they didn't give a #### for 55 minutes, I have another question. Who delivers the best deep dish to daysinn on MacLeod?
