There is already (an awesome) thread for this:

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=37216

The more poeple adding to that thread the better.

It helps when you add the band/artist name AND album though, as it can get pretty confusing with only one or the other.

Anything by Brazilian Marisa Monte, especially Diariamente and Beija Eu. It's slower things that are very different.

If you like The National you should check out a compilation album that Bryce Desner from The National put together as a benefit for the Red Hot Organization. I believe it is a benefit for aids.

Anyway, it came out in February and is a really good album. Lots of good bands, imo.

Dirty Projectors + David Byrne
The Books featuring Jose Gonzalez
Feist + Ben Gibbard
Bon Iver
Grizzly Bear
The National (arrangement by Nico Muhly)
Yeasayer
My Brightest Diamond
Kronos Quartet
Antony + Bryce Dessner
Justin Vernon + Aaron Dessner
The Decemberists
Iron and Wine
Grizzly Bear + Feist
Spoon
Arcade Fire
Beirut
My Morning Jacket
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
Dave Sitek
Buck 65 Remix (featuring Sufjan Stevens and Serengeti)
The New Pornographers
Yo La Tengo
Stuart Murdoch
Riceboy Sleeps
Cat Power and Dirty Delta Blues
Andrew Bird
Conor Oberst + Gillian Welch
Blonde Redhead + Devastations
evin Drew

edit: This album has been mentioned before in the upcoming cd releases thread.

Awesome! I'd never bothered watching the video before, but I love that song.

I find myself over the last year or so listening more and more to the "Great Lake Swimmers". Lately live stuff that they recorded in a Royal Canadian Legion.
