Would suck for Kevin. No guarantee he gets another chance to play in a high-end tournament like this.

I wonder when this surgery took place. Our season ended nearly 2 months ago.

Hip surgery... so vague..

Was it a Femoral Acetabular impingement (fai) due to stress on the Femoral head? That's a 2-4 month recovery. But closer to 4 usually.

If it's a labrum tear, then likely out 4-8 months but closer to 6.

I had both in 2014 and the recovery sucked.

Point is, I doubt he's able to be up to game speed for this tourney even though most guys will be a bit slow out of the gates.

If I was the Flames, I would ask him to skip it so he can focus on getting healthier and stronger.
If he accomplishes those things, I don't see why he won't get invited again in the future.
