Pretty solid night for Wolf
Of course Huberdeau fashion, he scores from his pass attempt deflecting in. Has anyone considered taping a stick blade at the back of the other team's net for him to "pass" to?

Right. So if the Flames just trade the player they have available who can be a future Selke and Conn Smythe winning #1C for a cup team they should be able to get a guy like that.

... *checks roster*

Thompson is just a weird story all around. Decent college stats, did not much with the Chicago Wolves, a very pedestrian start with St. Louis, and poor numbers in San Antonio. Gets traded, has average numbers in Rochester and his first stint in Buffalo. By the end of 2021 you'd have figured he was a tweener and a disappointment.

Then suddenly out of nowhere gets 38 goals last year and this year is an absolute stud.

Power forwards develop slower. Tage is a huge guy too. Takes time to acquire size and then, in cases like Tage, even more time to learn how to use that size properly.

I wonder what the list of power forwards who dominated from day one in the NHL would look like. Not being a smartass, just actually curious. Like, Lindros immediately jumps to mind, but there aren't many 18/19 year olds that are Lindros' (or Lebron's) size. Edit: Maybe Looch? He was unstoppable early in Boston, can't remember if it was his rookie season or a couple years in though.

Iggy wasn't huge but he was definitely a power forward. Stone had 20 games and then the next season was great. Benn was good right away. Both Tkachuks. Rantanen.
