I've already been offered a ticket for game 1 by a friend who's a Canucks STH (but a Habs fab). Hoping it's Wednesday as I'll be flying to Calgary Thursday evening.
Would love to be at game 1!!!

Hope they can activate "Killer" Paul Byron for the series, The Sedin Sister's might drop a deuce right on the ice if they see him skate by in warm ups

call ups should be:
Wolf
McGrattan
Sieloff
Clint Malarchuk brought back in a consulting role
Starting lineup for game 1 is:
Bollig centering Wolf and McGrattan, with Engellend and Sieloff on the blueline.

I feel the Flames drew the best possible opponent (for us) in round 1. Looking at the 8 teams and maybe Nashville would be the only other one I'd rather play, but it's close.

I'm sure both teams are happy with the match up which is fine
the Canucks can be the favorites too doesn't bother me at all
Flames #1 center is 20
Their #1 is in his mid 30s
we are on the upswing, them not so much

This is a fitting opponent as the Flames fortunes turned around on brawl night back in January 2014.

I think this is a very winnable series.
Question marks for me: Can the defense hold up? Can we get reliable secondary scoring?
That defense is banged up. Can't go through a 7 game series with Corey Potter playing two minutes.
The Monahan line is borderline dominant, I think they will give Vancouver fits. But we absolutely will need more from Backlund, Jones, Colborne et al.

This will be an interesting series, in part because this isn't the same Canucks team we've come to know and hate over the past 10 years. In theory, they really have little business being in the playoffs either, which means they've figured out a little magic of their own this season. Strangely, they also seem to have a knack for stepping it up against good teams and winning when they probably shouldn't.
So, in a way, this series should be a battle of wills more than skills. I think it will largely come down to each team's 2nd - 4th lines, and which group comes through most.
