Any idea how long it takes to get to the 'front of the line'? And also why the heck one has to wait to actually be able to use it? That's not even 1999 levels of service.

So, serious question; I realize that when BBM came out it was a pretty big selling feature. Although now with imessage, whatsapp, viber, or any other option, what's the big deal about BBM now? Is it still encrypted/secure?

Nothing. People will install it, try it for an hour, realize it's stupid, and uninstall by tomorrow.

I've been in the "line" for 5 hours. Has anyone actually received the email? Normally I wouldn't give a crap but my friend has a BB and wants me to try it out.

I'm still waiting. I have a few friends still in BBM, I don't know why but I always liked it better than just texting.
Hopefully it still works well.

After an hour of installing putting in my Blackberry ID, I just went back in and entered my email again, without getting notification, and it worked.
